Hello WannaBeasts:
We hope you are having a good week. Here are the details for this week's run:
Run # 12
When: Saturday, August 2nd, 2015, 6:30am
What: 8 miles, slow and easy
What else: Late Start Program, 5 miles
What else: Annual Monster Pancake Breakfast
Where: Chavis Park (see Ron's email for parking info)
Also, below are a few important reminders for this week:
- Pancake breakfast: if this this is your first year with
Galloway, you are in for a real treat! This Saturday we'll have are
annual Pancake Breakfast and our group is assigned with 12 lbs of pre-cooked
meats. If Please reply to the group and copy Ron (ronw...@aol.com)
with your contribution to make sure he knows when the quantities have been met. Food needs to be dropped off right before the run.
- Snack duty $$$: Our group was assigned for snack duty for
last weekend and your team leaders were in charge of purchasing, preparing,
cutting up, packaging, and delivering all the snacks to make the treats
available for everyone. However, we were short for about $40 (Ann paid for this
difference with her own money) so if you haven't done so, please give your $5
contribution to one of the leaders this Saturday so that we can pay Ann back.
Thank you.
- Race list: some of you didn't know that Ron has made
available to members a Race List (races that other members are doing this
year), which is designed to allow members to find race ideas, travel companions, or to
just find out who you will see at a race they are going to. This list has been
created as a Google Doc and can be found in the "Members Only" tab of
our website. For your
convenience, the link is below:

- And finally, although
repetitive, let’s talk one more time about calling out obstacles. I know, I know, we’ve been drilling it into your heads
since the beginning of the season but it is worth mentioning it again since it looks like some renegades are forgetting to do it ☺. With such a large group it is often difficult
to see what is going on in front of us. Therefore, it is very important that we call things
out such as road hazards, uneven pavement, cyclists/runners/walkers, etc. Also, the 'call' needs to move from the front and reach all the
way to the back to ensure that everyone knows what is going on. This is something that could potentially save someone from
getting seriously hurt.
That's all for now. We'll see you on Saturday for a fun run followed by the pancake breakfast.
