Couple of reminders:
Pancake breakfast, Saturday, August 23rd at Chavis Park: We are gearing up for our Monster Pancake Breakfast. Our group is assigned with 12 lbs of pre-cooked meats. Please reply to the group and copy Ron (ronw...@aol.com) with your contribution to make sure he knows when the quantities have been met.
Group photo (same day as pancake breakfast): do you want a group photo with 600 of your best friends? Then come all pretty and ready for our group photo! Ron uses the group photo for our printed calendar, which he distributes at the end-of-the-year party.
Snack duty: Our group is assigned for snack duty for 9/13. If you haven’t done so, please give your $5 contribution to one of our team leaders. We will purchase, prepare, cut up, and pack all the snacks and will set the coolers out early on the morning of 9/13 to make the treats available for the monster run.
And finally, although repetitive, let’s talk once again about not pushing the pace! J I know, I know, we’ve been drilling it into your heads since the beginning of the season but it is worth mentioning it one more time. This Saturday we’ll have folks doing anywhere between 10 and 18 miles and this will be the longest run ever for many members. We will go as slow as necessary to ensure the group stays together. Anyone who is doing less than 10 miles on Monster Run days and wants to run at a faster pace is welcome to move up a group.
