The Usefulness of Knowledge of Ogham

I strongly suggest anyone involved in Wand-Making
who is not familiar with the Ogham (Pronounced 'Aum') Script
should start examining it, One excellent work on the subject is;
The Celtic Tree Oracle by Colin (Sadly Deceaced) and Liz Murray.

Each script character is linked to a Tree or Shrub,
or natural Feature, such as the Sea.
Sometimes more than one.

For example, very briefly, the letter D,
Duir, the Oak, is not just strength,
but a protecting door, and a door to otherworld realms.
It is linked with ThunderGods, and the Lightning Strike...
The Lightning Flash's sudden light is with
Honeysuckle, The letter U, Uilleand,
and the value of realising Truths.
It helps with sudden flashes,
and distinguishing real from false...

Many also have colour associations,
i.e., the Bright blazing gold-yellow of Gorse,
the Purple of Heather.... and the Clear Sky Blue
to which the Ivy seeks to climb...

If you don't know about it, find out...
That applies to everything =)

Obviously the Ogham best applies its usefulness
in the lands where all, or most of its trees can be found.
It's nice to get to know each of them...

The kind of knowledge of characters, values and souls
of trees kept in the Ogham is very useful to
Witches and other Wand-Makers...

in the presence of trees to see what they impart...

This method is slow but potent.
