Okay. I must confess. Forgive me all, for I have read the entire
'Harry Potter' series. Not once, mind you, several times. It gave me
ideas. Here is my latest.

Hold a Try-Wizard Tournament. (Yes, I spelt that correctly). Lets
prove this whole thing once and for all. And we will do it out in the
open, with the whole world watching.

Before you think I have lost my mental organ, let me explain. The
'science' of divination is fairly well accepted across the board. I
mean, no one seriously argues that 'water-witching', is sheer hum-
drum. There are actually professionals who go in to your lot ahead of
the well driller, and point out the best place to drill. After all, at
a cost of hundreds of dollars per foot, it is worth paying a 'dowser'
his small fee to potentially save thousands.

Here is my plan. Find a 100 acre parcel of relatively flat land in an
area not very much famed for the abundance of water. Give each
'wizard' one full day, to 'try' to find the best location to drill for
water. (Try-wizard, see?) Mark each spot picked with GPS coordinates.

Then , when everyone has had a go, bring in the drilling rig. Give
points based on only two criteria. How deep to go to hit water,
(generally between 4 to 7 hundred feet down, and points for how much
water is found, (drillers routinely run test to determine the gallon
per minute output of a well.)

Of course, the money is made on the media coverage (live, from
Oklahoma, the water-witches!). I am sure you could convince a few
drillers to do it for the media coverage. And some land owner who
needs a new cattle well.

Lets put it to rest now, while the whole world is watching. We could
even call it "America, I drill", (say it fast now), or something even
catchier. (Is that a word?)

Well (?!), its just an idea...
