Explainantion needed for expansion & baseboard!

Hi,
I am using Wandboard Quad Revision C1 with Android 4.4.2.
In uEnv.txt i found 2 lines at the end of files
expansion=
baseboard=
It has multiple combinations like
expansion=fwbadapt
baseboard=fairy
or
expansion=
baseboard=wand
Can someone try to explain what are those 2, where exactly we got doc for it?
