So you got yourself a Wandboard. What's next?

Get accessories

1. a power adaptor (5V 2A / 10Watt is what you need)
2. NULL modem debug cable
3. micro SD cards
4. USB OTG cable with a USB mini connector on the Wandboard side (not USB micro).
5. HDMI cable + monitor

Get documents

The biggest help is to dive in the download center and get the quick start guide, manual and other documentation that describes all about the wandboard and how to get you started.

Get ready

Download a demo image (Android or Linux/Ubuntu) unpack the file and follow the instructions that are in described in the quick start guide. It will guide you to create a SD card to insert in the Wandboard. (DO NOT OPEN THE SD CARD IN WINDOWS AND MODIFY THINGS. IT WON'T WORK AFTERWARDS).

Boot up your Wandboard

Connect at least the HDMI cable and insert the SD card that you created in your Wandboard. There are 2 slots. One at the module PCB. The other on the connector board. Insert your SD card into the MODULE part of the Wandboard.

So you didn't get a booting system.

1. Recreate your SD card and be patient. Sometimes ejecting your card to quickly from your notebook/pc can cause a not finished written SD card.. Try again. and reboot the system.

2. Get a NULL modem cable connected and use minicom/putty to see the output when booting your Wandboard. The settings for the serial port are 115200/1/n/8)

3. Do not insert any SD card in your Wandboard. Insert the USB OTG cable to your wandboard. Insert the other side in your development computer and after that attach the power adapter to your Wandboard.

It should appear as a "Freescale Semiconductor" device. In linux you can do "lsusb" to see the attached devices.

The above steps will get you started and make you feel comfortable that you have a working Wandboard on your desk.

After going through the above. Dive in the forums.
