Dear colleagues,

I remember the way I suffered trying to settle into university life in my first year. And my results then proved my inadequate preparation. Now as I observe my studetns, I see the same struggle and suffering. Maybe you went through the same.

To address this I am piloting a four-week online course to help first-year students at least know how to master their academic life (and hence also deal with other aspects of college life). I will be running the pilot from Monday 5th to Friday 31st October 2020. I am only taking a few students for the pilot. 

If you have or know of any ex-form 6 children waiting to join university who could benefit from such a course, I'd be grateful if you can kindly refer them to me so I can send them more information.

Yes, I should have introduced myself.

I am Eva Ombaka, Senior Lecturer in the faculty of Pharmacy at St John's  University of Tanzania (SJUT), Dodoma.

I am a pharmacist by training and have a Masters in Public Health and PhD in Pharmaceutical Microbiology. 

I have worked for many years in academia and in policy issues. 

My passion is to see the success of our youth- they are our future.
