Every time I come across a street vendor, they tend to have lots of books, but which I have no idea about on what is in them. I don't rely on the back cover text as I see it as more of a marketing gimmick/spoiler.

If however, we had a catalogue the vendors had, one could research on the titles before going out and buying the same.

So I propose, how about we start threats, one for each vendor, where we share photos of what the vendors have eg "Ukwala - Mfangano" for the vendor outside Ukwala supermarket along Mfangano street.

Some of you have a relationship with the vendors and may help buy them in.

What do you guys think?

Or they could just be as smart as some '50-bob' movie techies who have cataloged their merchandise very well.  One just gives the titles and they search for the movies in a few seconds.  If only such a list made it on a free word press site, we could have the pleasure of browsing from our desktops or phones.

Did i hear someone say they are jobless? There you have it - a business idea that can be implemented with very minimal start-up costs!

Amazing idea. I'll be taking pictures of the street bookstores i come across and sharing them here when i can. But you have to be fast since books go like hot cakes.
