Hey everyone,

Now that the olympics are over (Wasn't it fun being an armchair athlete?) its back to some reading...I just started on 'Size 14 is not fat either' by Meg Cabot (one of my fave female authors. Queen of Babble Trilogy is a riot and her sensible yet hilarious Allie Finkle rules for girls series is one I recommend and gift to pre-teen girls)...Below is on my reading pile

If you come softly -Jacqueline Woodson

The Piper's Son- Melina Marchetta  (Another fave female author. Her book Jellicoe road is achingly beeeautiful and one of my all time fave reads)

Waiting -Ha Jin

Smokin' Seventeen (Stephanie plum series # 17)-Janet Evanovich (I highly recommend this seriously addictive, laugh-out loud series to everyone who enjoys a spot of humor in their reading.Bounty hunting has never been this hilarious. Start with book # 1 :One for the money and you'll understand why she's constantly on Forbes list of highest earning authors)

Darkest Mercy-Melissa Marr

Marvin K Mooney, will you please go now- Dr. Seuss

Don Quixote-Miguel De Cervantes

Bone Chiller -Graham Mc Namee

Esperanza rising-Pam Munoz Ryan

Greek gods & mythology in classical literature and art

Diary of a wimpy kid: Rodrick rules-Jeff Kinney

The Card turner-Loius Sachar (His books Holes & There’s a boy in the girl’s bathroom are super awesome)

Tender is the night-F. Scott Fitzgerald

The Red Pyramid –Rick Riordan

Angus, thongs & full frontal snogging- Louise Rennison

Say, what are you reading and what's next on your reading pile?

Have a fab week,

Good morning Lydia,

Madame Bovary is an interesting read. I remember reading it and saying "Really, Emma? Really?!!" and yet I found myself caring; silently hoping that she'd get her act together...find a balance with time...Please let me know how you find it, yes? (l'm reminded of an interesting convo where my sister and I found ourselves discussing Emma AND Gabby Solis...and we kinda wished Emma would have found within her the kind of strength and will to live that crazy Gabby had...but that's life I guess...) You may want to try 'Wifey' by Judy Blume which I found to be a cool read...

Artemis Fowl is a lovely page turner (I stopped at book 2 though. Got distracted, but I'll most definitely re-visit the series)...If you end up loving it, do sample 'The Maximum Ride' & Daniel X books by James Patterson and the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz...

I'd love to get my hands on a copy of 'The spot of bother' ...I'll add it on my to-read list...

Happy reading,

N

Don Quixote is a classic. Should read that one again.

I have lost my reading mojo, if i can call it that, but on my reading list is:

1. That Thing around my Neck - By Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
2. Star Book - By Ben Okri
