Read whatever you want.  If Twilight is your favorite book, great!  At least you’ve read something that you enjoyed.  At least you took the time to sit down and read anything.

Fuck the people who feel the need to belittle you because you’re not reading “the right books."

I've always found it suspicious when people decide what to read by the ratings of a book on Amazon or popular reviews. Apart from writing style, language and grammar, the goodness of a book is quite relative. Reading what is popular or approved is akin to keeping up with the Kardashians (or is it the Joneses?) of book-reading. It is merely giving into the fear of being left out. But when you read what you want, you gain more from your reading ... compared to merely reading so that you can update your Goodreads library and show off your relevance.

Echoing the words of "my" favorite author: "There are no uninteresting topics, only uninterested people."
