Hi, guys!

I just put in our final centerpiece order and figured I’d send an update/see if anyone else had anything to add.  I can’t believe we’re four days out already.

Outstanding Questions:
  • Saturday arrival time:  6pm?
  • Teachers:  we should decide how to handle so we can notify people ASAP.  If I recall, Sandground we decided not to count/make pay since she can only do drinks.  On others, given excess $ I mention below, we have room to do discounted tix @ $25 for 3 teachers, or could 100% comp 1-2.
  • Ladies:  what are you wearing?
  • Slideshow:  did we figure out if Table 9 has equipment so Kaitlin Stanford can put together?

Updates:
  • Registrations:  89 attendees, 64 of whom are classmates.
  • Revenue/expenses:  expected collections of $5,976 and costs of $5,985, so $121 left over (before reimbursing Jenna/Tara for any decoration costs).  Stef, should I bring cash to cover the overage we owe Table 9 (currently $519.09 assuming no additional tip) and DJ ($300)?
  • Centerpieces:  ordered 11.  Will be delivered to Table 9 before 6pm Saturday.
  • Nametags:  Stef, attached are just the new ones since last batch.

My thoughts below!

Outstanding Questions:
  • Saturday arrival time:  6pm? >> I think 6 is fine!
>> How many were interested? I think $25/teacher is fine. It'll also cover us in the event extra teachers show up (always a possibility)
  • Ladies:  what are you wearing? >> Two options so far, either a navy blue leather shift dress or black pants & blouse. Both with heels but Im bringing flats :)
  • Slideshow:  did we figure out if Table 9 has equipment so Kaitlin Stanford can put together?

Also-- I'll post the note on the fb page about walk-ins welcome and that tickets are $90. But if they order before Friday we are still offering $75/pp for groups of 5+ classmates or $85pp.

    We're so close!

Also... just noticed on the site it says:

Just over two weeks left until our 10th reunion!

Buy your single or group tickets in advance and save $10-20 per person off the door price of $90 each

Can someone update to say THIS SATURDAY? And Savings of $5-20/pp, since we're charging $85 for single tix and $90 at the door?

    Thanks :)

Sorry guys. Just landed back in Paris. Pam, please bring either cash or another check to me for restaurant. I am going to pay them assuming 85 and I will settle with them after event for remaining. Cash for dj as well. I can cover paying him (I don't want you to have to carry all the cash from SF if u don't want to).

Table 9 doesn't have a projector and it would be a major production to accommodate if we didn't have the stuff there and ready

Ill run new name tags Friday at the office.

Sorry for delays. Lots been going on w travels.

No problem.  I’ll bring my checkbook then and write you checks for both if you are handling both in cash—that would definitely be safer.  J

On the projector stuff, let’s tell Kaitlin thanks for the idea but sounds like it’s hard to make work.  if she wants to help Jenna with any of the other creative stuff we’d welcome it!

Do you guys have the full list of attendees that you can send? I'd like to see if I can do any additional stalking this week :)

Also-- it'll be good for us to familiarize ourselves with the paid guests. There's usually a person or two who try to sneak in to events like these so we should be mindful of that, and maybe come up with a plan in the event that does happen.

    Good point.

My thought was That Laura would be first line of defense for this. We can give her a list of all of the attendees and each attendee will need to wear their name badge upon check-in. What do you guys think about that?

I spoke with Demetri yesterday. We are setting the room for 90 to 100 people. I guess at this point if more than that come in we will have to manage with limited table seating. That would be a good problem to have!

    Stef, that sounds perfect.

Class list attached.  (How much do I love this website??)  You can sort by (a) people who have registered, (b) people who said they’d come when they made a profile but who never registered, and (c) other people.

Anyone have thoughts on posting a note saying “these classmates will be there Saturday…  will you?” along with the list of registrants + registration link on Facebook/the website?  It usually boosts attendance at Princeton reunions—people look and see friends on the attendee list and sign up.

Jenna, I think we should set up a registration table right outside the room (or right inside, depending on layout—we can decide when there) where people will have to check in.  We can split list by last name between Laura and Jess and put up a sign saying “A-L” and “M-Z.”  Laura/Jess will then check off their names and give them a name badge/tell them they have to wear, and the four of us will keep an eye out for name-badge-less people and awkwardly confront sneakers-in.

Pam-- that's a great idea to post the list! I think it will definitely light a little fire and get the excitement up :)

I think my mom might have one of those cash boxes that locks up. If so I'll bring that for the girls in the event there are walk-ins. If people try to pay with checks at the event, do we say no or deposit on site via cell phones to make sure they don't bounce. Hey- you never know!

Stef- Just realized I'll need a table to put the tri-fold poster boards that will feature the senior pics. We can figure out placement day-of if that works for Demetri and team.

Girls-- what are YOU wearing? I don't want to be too dressy!

Okay, I’ll post the list to the website.  Not sure how best to post to Facebook so if there’s anyone with a good idea, feel free…

I’d be cool with doing the phone deposit if people want to pay with checks.  I’m not sure if they can still bounce once “accepted” but willing to gamble it.

I haven’t really thought about what to wear yet but I’m assuming it will be a casual dress of some kind, and heels.

Just an update:  figured out how to post the same thing from the class site to Facebook without it looking too bad, so I think I’ve got both.  The Facebook page has a link to the registration page of the class site for ease of use.

I'm planning on wearing jeans, blazer, flats because I want to be able walk around.

How would one define a dress code that is “wear whatever you want”?

If we can come up with a helpful punchy description that won’t alienate anyone or make them feel like they have to wear one thing or another, I’m all about it.

You're going to a restaurant.  You've been out of high school for 10 years, figure it out.  No prom dresses, unless that's how you express yourself.

I think that does the trick.

Jenna's invite said "smart casual" I believe, which I think covers "no gym shorts please" but you can still wear jeans.
