You can send and receive text (SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messages through the Messages app . Messages are considered texts and don't count toward your data usage. Your data usage is also free when you turn on chat features.

Her phone, the iPhone X? Everything works except sending texts to Android phones. Whether it's a single number or a mixed group, if there's an Android phone involved, Mint goes "Nope, eff you, not gonna send it."

I will probably stay with the service, but I will most likely discourage anyone from using you folks. Both of us are fairly technically inclined and we can't solve this. I can't imagine what our non-tech friends and family would have to go through.

It appears that you're having a problem sending SMS messages from your iPad using the Continuity feature called Text Message Forwarding. Good job on the troubleshooting you've tried, and we're glad to provide assistance.

How to forward SMS/MMS text messages from your iPhone to your iPad, iPod touch or Mac - Apple Support -- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding. If your iPad isn't selected, select it now and see if you can send SMS messages to Android phones.

So for a long time, with multiple phones from different manufacturers (android), I have had group text issues where after several messages, mine fail to send and incoming messages are received as indivudal texts by the sending contact as download but wont download.

Also before it is suggested, please do not ask me to play around with my settings in my phone (toggle airplane mode, change network settings, etc.) This is NOT an issue with the phone settings. This is a NETWORK issue, which is why I am posting on the Verizon forum and not an android forum.

I have had and continue to experience this. This has been ongoing for a very long time. I would say since at least a year ago. So like....since summer of 2022. Or....even longer than that. It took me a long time to figure out what caused it.
And yes...customer support wants you to reset network settings, restart phone, turn airplane mode on and off, etc. I told the last rep as soon as they answered...."Listen...I don't mean to be rude, but do not have me reset, restart, etc....I'm wayyyyy beyond that". They couldn't understand what I was trying to tell them. So then I said this: "Imagine you and 6 of your closest friends are on a group chat. Imagine 2 of you are Android (Verizon) and 5 are iPhone. Imagine all of you are playing trivia, asking and answering, back and forth to the group. Are you imagining? Okay. Now imagine, after a bunch of texts have been sent and received, that ONLY you and the OTHER Android user (the two Android users), can no longer send or receive group texts from any of the group. Its ONLY the Android users. Now imaging that lasts for 10-30 minutes and then it magically gets fixed. Still imagining? Now imagine it happens tomorrow under the same circumstances, and then the next day, then the next and the next and EVERY TIME you get in a "high volume" group chat. And its only the Android guys (who BOTH are Verizon). And imagine its happened like this for the past year. And imagine how, every time it happens, your members of your group chat wonder why you all of the sudden quit messaging. It's like Verizon puts you in 'MMS Timeout' " It gets very frustrating. I have a trouble ticket in for this. # *****. I 've spoke with Level 2 support about this twice. They are baffled. I feel your pain. Everything happens EXACTLY as you described it.

Yes! I have been experiencing the same issue since November over the use of two different phones. I switched to Verizon in November and right away I noticed the issue. On my old phone, Pixel 6, the issue happened almost daily, anytime a group chat I was in picked up. And your description of "MMS timeout" is a perfect description. Now on my Samsung S22 the issue has happened less but it still does occur. It is hard to judge if it is truly less frequent tho as I have switched away from using texting for group chats because of the issue. But it happened again today. The only thing I can think of for what happened today is that my phone was connected to a 4g network at the time. As soon as it switched back to 5g I was finally able to download the messages. I know my pixel only could connect to 4g and thinking back, I could believe my Samsung was only having the issue when it was connected to 4g. Is this something you have also noticed? Or does it happen when connected to 5g as well?

I've been having this issue too and it's only the high volume group texts and it does it constantly. It'll fix itself, then as soon as multiple texts start coming in, it pauses again. I literally need it to stop. I have to be able to contact this group. I'm so incredibly frustrated with it.

This is ridiculous. It is STILL going on. Verizon has a problem that are failing to address. Its been going on for at least a YEAR. Please note that on 5-8-2023, I referenced that it has been going on since Summer of 2022. Folks all over are mad. Other message boards, etc. Why. Can't. You. Guys. Fix. This???? AT&T doesn't have the issue, nor does T-Mobile, nor does ANY iPhone regardless of carrier. After calling in and getting trouble ticket after trouble ticket on top of new trouble ticket, I got a text message from Verizon saying "it's been resolved"...and in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM has it been resolved. Someone from Verizon DO SOMETHING.

Very few of us escape the nuisance of spam texts. Not only are unwanted text messages extremely annoying, but in many cases, they are a scam. This guide explains how you can fight back and reduce the number of spam text messages and phishing texts you receive.

These texts can expose you to identity theft and increase the risk of you accidentally downloading malware onto your phone. They can also lead to unwanted charges on your phone bill if your wireless carrier charges you for receiving a text message.

If you are unsure whether a text message is real or not, the best thing to do is contact the relevant organization directly. You can search for their website via a search engine and then click through from the search engine results page, or else you can type in the URL directly into your address bar. Or you can find out their phone number and call them to check.

In the UK, you can report spam text or robotexts to your cellular carrier by forwarding the unwanted text to 7726 (this spells SPAM). Make sure the original number is showing. This reporting method works for the primary network providers. You may receive an automated response thanking you for the report and giving you further instructions if needed. You will not be charged for sending texts to 7726.

There are plenty of reasons why you would schedule a text message on Android, which include both personal and professional applications. Scheduling texts is great for managing your time, avoiding missed connections, and ensuring timely delivery.

You can avoid forgetting important dates like birthdays, have texts delivered when appropriate, and schedule follow-up texts for professional applications like meetings. With our best practices, you can improve your personal and professional communication while making the most of scheduled texting.

What you'll need: The only things you'll need to make this work are an Android device with a data plan (for the sending of texts). The feature is found in Android Messages, which is pre-installed on all Android phones, so there are no apps to install. It's all there, ready to go.

If too many people have reported your text messages as spam, which can happen if you're using the number to text customers a lot, carriers could blacklist your number. That means every time you try to text a number belonging to those carriers, their spam filters will prevent your message from going out.

Depending on your default messaging app, you can recover deleted text messages on Android. Google Messages doesn't offer a recycle bin. Your texts are gone forever after deletion unless you back them up to the cloud.

If you use a Samsung, OnePlus, or another device running custom Android versions, your message app has a bin. You can activate or deactivate it, but it's best to activate it so that accidentally deleted texts go there. You have 30 days to retrieve the text, after which it wipes permanently.

If you're desperate to get your conversations back, contact the other party in the conversation. They may have a copy of the conversation, as deletion at your end doesn't affect them. Also, numerous data recovery software, like PhoneRescue and Dr.Fone, claim to work toward message recovery. However, they pose security risks. Some contain malware intended to steal information from you or harm your device.

Google Messages doesn't have a trash bin. When you delete a message, you lose it permanently. However, it's possible you accidentally archived the texts. Archiving a conversation removes it from the main conversation list but doesn't delete the messages. On your Android devices, archiving and unarchiving texts is easy. It also works if you use Google Messages on Windows, Mac, or another computer.
