Wallace v2 tutorial: Maxent via maxnet crashes after ENMevaluate ([is.lonlat] unknown crs)

Hello,
I’m new to SDM and I’ve been trying to work through the Wallace v2 tutorial step by step to learn the workflow properly.

My setup is: Windows 10, R 4.3.3, RStudio, Wallace 2.2.0, ENMeval 2.0.5.2, terra 1.8, raster 3.6-32

So far, most of the workflow has been working fine. I can:

download occurrence data from GBIF,
clean the occurrence records,
load WorldClim environmental data,
run BIOCLIM successfully,
and ENMevaluate also completes successfully in the Model step.

The problem only comes up when I try to run Maxent via maxnet in Wallace.

After ENMevaluate finishes, Wallace crashes with grey screen:

[is.lonlat] unknown crs
Error in if: missing value where TRUE/FALSE needed
raster::extract

So as far as I can tell, the issue is not with the occurrence download or the environmental data in general, because the earlier steps work and BIOCLIM works too. The crash seems to happen specifically in the Maxent/maxnet part of the pipeline.

Since I’m still learning, I’m not sure whether I’m missing something obvious, or whether this could be a compatibility issue between the current versions of Wallace, ENMeval, terra, and raster.

Has anyone run into this before, or have any suggestions on what I should check next?
