Ben,

I notice that item activity for purchases does not include the HC amount.  I suspect this is intentional to maintain privacy for each user's HC amount, but it also means we can't gain valuable information about how to properly price items.  The Honey Exchange report is OK, but it can only list prices for items currently on the market.  What I am thinking about is a historical view of item # to price paid (with the option to separate prices that lead to purchases versus prices for items that either expired or were pulled from the market prior to purchase).  In this way we can see how the market is actually performing.

I've seen some incredibly high price tags on items and I am curious if the curves would support these prices or show a more consistent rule for how much a person is willing to pay for a particular item number range.

I completely understand if you continue to hide this information, but it does make for some interesting analysis.

Regards,
Kyle

Hi Kyle,

I think it's good that the HoneyComb information isn't there.  But if you were really keen, in theory, you could monitor the information on the market and relate it to the purchases made.  The accuracy of the information will depend on how often your monitoring window is.  But it will give you the general feel of how the market is behaving.  As you suggest you could monitor individual items to determine how often it's been put on the market and have a good estimate of what price it finally sold at.

I believe the HoneyExchange (honeytracker.com) is snap-shotting history on an hourly basis (not granular enough for the analysis you want to do).

Regards,

Jonathan
