o San Jose-Based Western Digital Acquires Roseville's Kazan Networks

San Jose, Calif. -- Western Digital, the San Jose-based maker of hard disk drives and data storage devices, said on Tuesday it has acquired Roseville-based Kazan Networks, a developer of ASIC and adapter products used in data center architectures. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Western Digital said the acquisition will bolster its data infrastructure offerings and expertise in fabric-enabled architectures. Kazan specializes in NVMe-over-Fabric (NVMe-oF) products, which are designed to connect storage subsystems to an Ethernet fabric. "The addition of Kazan Networks will further expand Western Digital's leadership in disaggregated data infrastructure and accelerate the advancement of new, CDI-ready NVMe-oF platforms," said Phil Bullinger, the senior vice president and general manager of Western Digital's Data Center Systems business.

o San Jose-Based GlobalLogic Acquires North Carolina's Skookum
 

San Jose, Calif. -- GlobalLogic, a San Jose-based provider of digital product engineering services, said on Tuesday it has acquired North Carolina-based Skookum, a provider of digital strategy, design and development services. financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. GlobalLogic said the acquisition will complement its existing services, while strengthening its footing in tech hubs that are in close proximity to clients and local talent. "The adoption rate of transformative digital solutions is only accelerating," said Nitesh Banga, the company's chief operating officer (COO). "Leveraging that momentum, we are keenly focused on continually expanding our transformative design and engineering services footprint in key regions." Skookum launched in Charlotte, N.C. in 2005, and also maintains a second location in Denver.

o San Francisco-Based KeepTruckin Lands New investment from ITOCHU

San Francisco -- KeepTruckin, the San Francisco-based developer of a fleet management platform for trucking companies, said on Tuesday it has landed a new investment from Japanese transportation logistics giant ITOCHU Corp. as part of a larger strategic business alliance. Financial terms of the deal, which comes five months after the company raised $149 million in its fourth round of funding, were not disclosed. Under the partnership, KeepTruckin will team with ITOCHU to roll out new innovations for freight hauling, combining its technology with ITOCHU's vast U.S. and overseas commercial networks. "Their investment in KeepTruckin underscores the importance of bringing intuitive tools to the trucking industry," said co-founder and CEO Shoaib Makani.

o HEICO Acquires Fremont-Based TTT-Cubed

Fremont, Calif. -- HEICO, a Florida-based provider of products and services to niche segments of the aviation, defense, space, medical, telecom and electronics industries, said on Tuesday it has acquired Fremont-based TTT-Cubed, a developer of RF sources, detectors and controllers for aerospace and defense clients. Financial terms of the all-cash deal were not disclosed. Founded in 2012, TTT is best known for its high-end frequency locked oscillators and integrated digital control units. Now, the company will operate as part of HEICO's dB Control unit, relocating to that company headquarters, also in Fremont. Most of TTT's team will remain with the company.

The company also has named David Deane as its vice president of business development. Glass most recently served as the chief customer officer of Evolent Health, and previously was the director of strategic accounts at Walgreens in the health and wellness division, employer segment. Deane, meanwhile, served as the chief growth officer of TurningPoint Healthcare Solutions.
