Previous backers Wells Fargo, NVIDIA and Nexus Venture Partners also took part in the round, which increased the company's total funding to $147 million since its founding in 2012. Jade Mandel from Goldman Sachs will join the company's board of directors. Morpheus Ventures led the round, which also included participation from previous backers Shasta Ventures, Matrix Partners and MetaPlanet Holdings, as well as new investors TDK Ventures -- in its first-ever investment -- and Qu Ventures. Starship, which now has raised $85 million since its inception, also announced plans to expand its service to 100 university campuses in the next 24 months. The company's self-driving robots so far have completed more than 100,000 autonomous deliveries to restaurants and grocery stores. The battery-powered robots can cross streets, climb curbs, travel at night and operate in both rain and snow. "This new investment will see Starship expand onto more campuses as we head towards a goal of offering our service to over one million students," said CEO Lex Bayer. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company will join IAC's Emerging & Other segment, which also includes on-demand staffing platform Bluecrew. Founded in 2017, NurseFly's platform aggregates an index of more than 30,000 open travel nursing jobs nationwide.
