New investors Sumitomo, Armada Capital and TaL Capital joined previous backers Finistere Ventures, Germin8 Ventures, GreenSoil Investments, Innovation Endeavors and OurCrowd in the round. The company said it will use the new capital to amplify its research and development efforts and speed penetration of its analytics platform. Vikupitz has spent the past decade as the president and CEO of precision irrigation company Netafim USA. CropX's soil sensing technology is designed to help farmers manage and accurately predict crop needs, such as irrigation and fertilization.
