Blvd. (Hwy.99) toward downtown Albany. Follow Lyon Street to 1st Ave.
left (West) on 1st. Go three blocks and Left on Ferry Street. Cross
Second Ave. and enter parking at Two Rivers Market.
Comments
This walk will be in parts of the Historic District of Downtown Albany,
including Bryant Park as well as passing by the renovated 1909 Train
Station and through two cemeteries by the Albany General Hospital.
Bryant Parkwas dedicated to the city by Hubbard and Adda Bryant in the
year 1919. The old covered bridge that crossed the Calapooia River was
replaced and opened in 1960. Bryants Park does flood on occasion during
the winter months. It is said that in the year 1964, that a local group
of high school students chose up sides to play a tackle football game in
1 to 2 feet of water on an early warm spring day. The Challenges and
Special programs on this walk will be presented at the walk. Pets are
welcome, all leash and cleanup laws apply. All walkers must sign waivers
prior to walking.

Walk along the side of Lost Creek Lake on a nature path. There is a pit
toilet at the start location and one approximately 2k after starting.
You will walk past the 2nd pit toilet location which is maintained by an
Eagle scout troop from Shady Cove area. After this location you will
walk through a gate on the pathway with fencing on both sides of the
gate to the Closed Bridge.Unfortunatly the walk no longer goes to the
Blue Grotto Falls, due to a unsafe bridge which is now closed.You will
have walked 3k into the hike, turn around at the closed bridge and
return to the start where you have parked your vehicle. This will give
you a 6k walk

Comments
This walk will start at the Thompson's Mill State Heritage Site and walk
along peaceful country roads to Shed Oregon and back. Thompson's Mill is
a unique survivor of things past, Chronicling 160 years of Oregon rural
life and honoring owners who continually adapted the mill to the
changing world around it. It is the last water-powered mill in the state
and its turbines can be seen in action on guided tours. A water right
that predates statehood produces the water flow that still runs the
milling machines for demonstrations today. A tour of the mill will
follow the walk. folks can bring a sack lunch to enjoy near the parking
area and mill.

A two loop walk thru pristine forests along the Alsea River with its
many waterfalls to walk along. After having done either or both loops
you may walk down a short trail to the Alsea Falls and listen to the
cascading water over the rock surface as it flows down stream. Bring as
picnic lunch after the walk in the day use area. Restrooms are available
at the start. walkers should bring their own water. All walkers are
required to sign waivers prior to walking. All leash and cleanup laws
apply. Challenges for this walk will be provided at the start. Day

Because of the change in the Rose Festival Parade Route this walk will
have a added 5 km loop along with the 2 loops that have been held in the
past. LOOP #1 crosses Hawthorne Bridge past Dragon Boat Races, Rose
Festival City Fair, thru Saturday market, then return back to the start
by crossing the Burnside Bridge LOOP #2 will go towards the Lloyd Center
using 12th Ave going past the old Benson High School to Lloyd Blvd where
the parade will pass. The walk then will return across the new
pedestrian bridge. There will be a group walk for 5 and 10 km Walkers
starting at 10:15.

Comments
Walk along the side of Lost Creek Lake on a nature path. There is a pit
toilet at the start location and one approximately 2k after starting.
You will walk past the 2nd pit toilet location which is maintained by an
Eagle scout troop from Shady Cove area. After this location you will
walk through a gate on the pathway with fencing on both sides of the
gate to the Closed Bridge.Unfortunatly the walk no longer goes to the
Blue Grotto Falls, due to a unsafe bridge which is now closed.You will
have walked 3k into the hike, turn around at the closed bridge and
return to the start where you have parked your vehicle. This will give
you a 6k walk

Drive 10.7 miles. Left (East) at intersection toward Plainview on Boston
Mill Dr. Go 2.6 miles and left into mill Heritage site parking area.
Comments
This walk will start at the Thompson's Mill State Heritage Site and walk
along peaceful country roads to Shed Oregon and back. Thompson's Mill is
a unique survivor of things past, Chronicling 160 years of Oregon rural
life and honoring owners who continually adapted the mill to the
changing world around it. It is the last water-powered mill in the state
and its turbines can be seen in action on guided tours. A water right
that predates statehood produces the water flow that still runs the
milling machines for demonstrations today. A tour of the mill will
follow the walk. folks can bring a sack lunch to enjoy near the parking
area and mill.

There is no Park entry fee on this day. Two 5k routes in historic park
with Methodist Mission 1834 settlement. Walk on paved/dirt paths through
Park's diverse 1300 acres. There will be a 10k group walk and a 5k group
walk but walkers can choose not to walk in a group but with written
directions and map. Trail will not be marked.

A two loop walk thru pristine forests along the Alsea River with its
many waterfalls to walk along. After having done either or both loops
you may walk down a short trail to the Alsea Falls and listen to the
cascading water over the rock surface as it flows down stream. Bring as
picnic lunch after the walk in the day use area. Restrooms are available
at the start. walkers should bring their own water. All walkers are
required to sign waivers prior to walking. All leash and cleanup laws
apply. Challenges for this walk will be provided at the start. Day
parking passes are required and are available at the kiosk. in the day

Because of crowds we do not recommend pets. Free Parking is on the

Because of the change in the Rose Festival Parade Route this walk will
have a added 5 km loop along with the 2 loops that have been held in the
past. LOOP #1 crosses Hawthorne Bridge past Dragon Boat Races, Rose
Festival City Fair, thru Saturday market, then return back to the start
by crossing the Burnside Bridge LOOP #2 will go towards the Lloyd Center
using 12th Ave going past the old Benson High School to Lloyd Blvd where
the parade will pass. The walk then will return across the new
pedestrian bridge. There will be a group walk for 5 and 10 km Walkers
starting at 10:15.
