Walk has 2 5k routes and 1 11k route. One 5k route goes into the Alberta District and the other 5k route goes past the U of O campus and a Peace Pole. The 11k route goes out to the Alameda district Tthe 11km route will Not Be Marked. There will be instructions and a map available for the walkers desiring to walk the 11km route.
The Alberta/University of Oregon-Portland 5km will be marked and it will be the only route to be marked with arrows and ribbons.
There will be scheduled group walks for both the one 5km route and the 11km departing from the Kennedy School at 10:00am with a Group Leader.

Important event information
Walk on sidewalks and along street shoulders into some of the historic areas of Portland and into Alberta Park, past University of Oregon - Portland Campus (find the Peace Pole) for this particular 5km route. The other 5km route goes to and through the Alberta District and some of their nice eateries and various shops.
The 11k route goes to the Alameda District and back, there are stairs on one section of the route. The rating for the 11k is 2A.
There "will be" a group walk for both route distances (5k & 11k) starting at 10:00am.
Walking Credit Fee is $4.00. Donations are appreciated to help offset expenses.

5736 NE 33rd St, Portland I-84 Eastbound from I-5: Exit #1 (NE 33rd Ave). Turn LEFT for 2 miles
to the McMenamins Kennedy School at NE 33rd Ave and NE Jessup. Turn RIGHT onto NE
Jessup to the McMenamins Kennedy School Parking lot on Left. If necessary, on-street parking is
available. I-84 Westbound from I-205: Exit #2 (NE 43rd Ave). LEFT on NE Halsey St. RIGHT on
NE Cesar E Chavez Blvd (formerly NE 39th Ave) to NE Broadway. LEFT on NE Broadway to NE
33rd Ave. RIGHT on NE 33rd Ave to McMenamins Kennedy School on the Right - corner of NE
Jessup and NE 33rd Ave (see above).
Comments
Pets are not allowed inside the McMenamins Kennedy School building. Written instructions and maps will be provided. There are two 5km routes and one 11km route. One 5km route goes on sidewalks into the Alberta District and their various shops and eateries. The other 5km route - will walk past some nice older neighborhood homes, around Alberta Park and past the old Concordia University (now University of Oregon - Portland campus). There is a Peace Pole on this route. ESVA Challenge - That's Entertainment.
There will be a group walk for both distances (5k & 11k) starting at 10:00am.
Walking Credit Fees is $4.00. Guests and MeetUp walkers are asked to please make a minimal donation to help offset expenses for this event. There will be an Oregon Trail State Volkssport Association (OTSVA) Meeting in the Parsons Room starting at 1:00pm

Join the Willamette Wanderers as they walk their Dallas 5k/10k routes. Walk on the Rickreall Creek Trail, through the Courthouse Square downtown. City Park & Arboretum and residential areas. The 5K West route includes the new Japanese Garden in City Park also seen on the 10K. The 10k (rated 2B) includes a lovely hillside residential area where bands of turkeys may be seen. The 5k East route includes the downtown, a longer Rickreall Creek Trail and newer residences. Many Challenges on this walk.
Driving directions: From OR22 West & OR99W: west on OR223 (becomes Ellendale Ave). Left at traffic light at Kings Valley Hwy. OR223 is then known as Main St. Turn left at Oak from Main and left on Jefferson. Please do not park in the caf?’s parking lot.

TV Simpsons. All 3 routes include the murals. The 10k also does the West D Street Greenway by
the Willamette River and the residential Washburne Historic District. The 6k explores the murals
and the Greenway. The 5k route also includes the residential Historic District.
