Description: Route goes through 5 parks and quiet residential
neighborhoods; along a bike path, a lake, and a canal. This walk
provides many opportunities to observe ducks, a variety of other birds,
and the occasional nutria.
Driving directions: From I-5 (north or south) take Exit 233 (Hwy 20).
Turn towards City Center 0.5 miles to Waverly Dr. Turn left on Waverly,
drive 1.2 miles to Grand Prairie Rd. Turn right on Grand Prairie Rd 0.4
miles to the Brookdale Villas Courtyard. Park in Visitor's area. Wood
file cabinet is in the mail room behind the reception desk on the right.

Walk will start in Frenchman's Bar Regional Park with beautiful views of
the Columbia River and walk
on paved bicycle/pedestrian path to Vancouver Lake and return.

Directions to the start table
9612 NW Lower River Rd. From I-5 take exit 1-C Mill Plain Blvd and turn
west on Mill Plain to
Fourth Plain Blvd. Bear Left on Fourth Plain Blvd. which turn into SR501
- Lower River Rd. Keep
left at the Vancouver Lake Park - Frenchman's Bar intersection and
continue until reaching park
entrance on left. Once inside the park continue go left at the main
intersection.
Comments
At Frenchman's bar walkers will be able to see the Columbia River with
lots of wildlife especially
birds this time of year. You will then walk on a paved bike path to
Vancouver Lake passing farms
and wildlife areas. You will also view Vancouver Lake and the many birds
there. 5 km will turn
back around before reaching Vancouver Lake. Enjoy REI's initiative of
opting out Black Friday
Shopping and get outside to enjoy the environment. This is a Traveling
Group walk with a long
registration period from 8:30 to 10:30 am Those that come early and want
to take their own time
period will be given a map and instructions so they can go at any time
they would like. The 5 km
Group will leave at 10:30 and 10 km Group will leave at 10:00 am. Event
and Distance books will
be stamped at the start of the walk. Bring your camera

Sunday November 27 Historic Albany
When: 1pm - Register for this group walk: 12:45 - 1pm
Where: Pop's Branding Iron Restaurant & Lounge, 901 Pacific Blvd SE, Albany

Description:  Walk starts at Pops. It goes through parks and historic
districts (passing many Victorian and vintage homes); and along the
revitalized waterfront and the acclaimed Albany Carousel. You will walk
on sidewalks, paved paths and a boardwalk.
Driving directions:   from I-5 take exit 233 turn West towards Albany
City Center/Corvallis. Destination on the right.

Description: "Bringing water is advised since there is a certain
percentage of gradient changes on this great nature walk with lots of
great views of the surrounding valley."
Driving directions: From I-5 take Hwy 20 exit towards Corvallis, after
crossing the Willamette River, turn right on North Albany Rd. Left at
the Traffic Round on the third Exit (Gibson Hill Road). Right on Crocker
Lane, Left on Valley View; Left on Hillcrest to first parking lot after
curving to the left. Meet near the pavilion.

traffic light turn RIGHT on NE
Weidler to NE Tenth Avenue. RIGHT on NE Tenth, cross NE Halsey Street to
Lloyd Center
Parking Garage. I-5 Southbound: Exit 302A. Turn LEFT on NE Weidler and
continue as above
once you have turned onto NE Weidler.
Comments
2201 Lloyd Center, Portland.Start is at the Upper Level of the Lloyd
Center in the Food Court
area.Parking is available using one of the parking garages of the Lloyd
Center or using on street
partking - remember if using on street parking the parking meters are
still active and will need
money to use them until 7:00pm.The combined Columbia River & Willamette
River fleets are
scheduled to leave the staging area at Riverplace Marina at 4:30pm. By
the Hawthorne Bridge
area and Waterfront Park.10k & 6k - Walkers will need to depart the Food
Court in the Lloyd
Center NO LATER THAN 3.30pm if going the complete 10km route or the 6km
route to be able to
get to the staging area of the boats to see them departing Riverplace
Marina and going South
towards Lake Oswego. Best view of the boats for the 10k walkers will be
in the middle of the
Tilikum Crossing Bridge. Best view for the 6.3k walkers will be at the
viewing areas just past the
Hawthorne Bridge to see all the boats until they leave the staging area
going under the Tilikum
Crossing Bridge 5km route walkers need to leave the Lloyd Center area NO
LATER THAN
4:00pm, this will allow walkers doing the 5km route the opportunity to
see the Columbia River
Fleet traveling down the Willamette River towards the Riverplace Marina
to merge up with the
Willamette River Fleet.Dogs are not allowed inside the Lloyd Center,
though they can be on the
walk after registration and you are back outside for the walk.Bring a
FLASHLIGHT with You!
Suggest you bring an UMBRELLA as well! Last year it rained!The Meet and
Greet (8pm) with the
Ships Captains at the Riverplace Marina has been cancelled for this year
