Register 9:45-10 AM Walk starts at 10 AM
Join the Willamette Wanderers as they walk their 5/10k routes on paved
sidewalks often in shady areas. Both routes focus on Salem Heritage
Grant and Highland Neighborhoods north of the State Capitol. Grant
neighborhood has lovely residences and gardens. Highland routes include
heavily remodeled Herbert Hoover childhood house, A street mural is in
each area. 10K also goes to the Oregon School for the Deaf in the
Highland area.
Driving Directions: I-5 exit 256 Market Street. Left (northbound),
right (southbound) to Market St,
Go 2 miles to Broadway. Right on Broadway to next traffic light at
Hood. Right on Hood and Right on 5th St to parking lots behind Broadway
Commons. Can also park on nearby streets.
From OR 22W: Left on Liberty Street after crossing Center Street
bridge. Go about half a mile to intersection with Broadway, Left on
Broadway to Hood St (2nd street after Market at next traffic light).

directions: From Salem:
north on Wallace Rd in West Salem which becomes OR-221. Go approximately
20 miles to
Dayton. Park will be on the left. From Portland: I-5 southbound to Exit
294, then 23 miles to
OR-18/OR-233/SE Dayton Bypass, & then right on OR-221. Park will be on
the right.

Dayton is a small Yamhill County historic town east of McMinnville with
a population of nearly
2600. The pedestrian bridge joining the town to the Vintages Trailer
Resort was closed in 2018,
and the new bridge has recently opened

There will not be any arrows or ribbons on either route. There will be a
scheduled group walk for
both routes starting at 10:30am If you would like to join either of the

checkpoint. Walkers are advised if they bring a dog with them to be sure
they are on a leash.The

on Hall Blvd in about a mile. Right on Wall St in a mile at traffic
light to library. I-5 southbound:
exit 293 toward Haines St taking you Right on Dartmouth; Left on 72nd at
traffic light for 2 1/4

There is no Park entry fee on this day. Walk is stationed and starts by
the Mission Lake Boat
Ramp. Two 5k routes in historic park with Methodist Mission 1834
settlement. Walk on
paved/dirt paths through Park's diverse 1300 acres. There will be a 10k
group walk and a 5k
group walk but walkers can choose not to walk in a group but with
written directions and map.
