The walk also passes the beautiful St. Mary's Church and school, where a car show will be held
on Saturday and Sunday

Important event information
Walk on paved bike paths and roadways to the Starvation Creek Falls, Cabin Creek Falls, Hole in
the Wall Falls, and viewpoint of Lancaster Falls. The 10 km route will go thru the State Park to
the Columbia River. The 5km suitable for strollers and wheelchairs and rated 1A. 10km hard for
strollers and not suitable for wheelchairs and rated 1B

Viento State Park - I-84 EASTBOUND: Exit #56. RIGHT at end of exit ramp to parking area.
Parking is limited. If you have an Oregon State park permit, please park on the north side of the
freeway and walk back to the south side. We do walk past the north parking lot at the end of the
walk, so those that park on the north parking area will reach their car first.
Comments
Restrooms at the 2.5 km and 6 km. Not at start. There may be more than one group walking
depending on the number of walkers.

Important event information
This South Salem walk starts going through a large cemetery and then through the lovely, hilly
Candalaria residential neighborhood. The 10k continues on natural trails and in forests to the
Fairmount neighborhood. The Fairmount route goes past the Governor's Mansion and other
attractive mansions and gardens. The 5k doesn't go to the Governor's Mansion.

LifeSource Natural Foods, 2649 Commercial St SE, Salem, 503-361-7973. I-5 exit 253, head to
Salem City Center on Mission St for 3 miles to Commercial St, passing Salem Hospital. Left on
Commercial for about 1 mile to LifeSource on right.
