Where: Broadway Coffeehouse, 1300 Broadway St NE, Salem

Description: Walk on paved sidewalks often in shady areas. Both routes
focus on the Grant and Highland residential neighborhoods north of the
State Capitol. The Grant neighborhood was the first Salem neighborhood
to be designated as a Heritage Neighborhood. 10k also goes to the Oregon
School for the Deaf in the Highland area.
Comment: entering from the parking lot. Binder is on a ledge at the far
end of the Desk.
Driving directions: from I-5, take exit 256, (Market Street.) Northbound
turn left on to Market St, Southbound turn RIGHT on to Market St. Go 2
miles to Broadway, RIGHT on Broadway to next traffic light at Hood,
RIGHT on Hood & immediate RIGHT to enter parking lot behind Broadway
Commons. There is parking on nearby streets also.
From OR22 West: LEFT on Liberty St after crossing Center Street bridge;
Go about half a mile to intersection with Broadway, LEFT on Broadway to
Hood St (2nd street after Market at next traffic light), Follow above
directions.

310 N. 2nd Street, Jefferson. Take exit 238. at stop turn Left toward
Jefferson. Straight light after crossing the Santiam River bridge. Go
three blocks and Left on Church St. Park along Church or in back of the
church on Olsen Dr. follow walk signs enter the church on the North side
entrance.
Comments
This great scenic walk will be followed by a wonderful get together to
enjoy a feast of soups and other goodies for all participants following
the walk. All walkers must register and sign waivers prior to walking.
Restrooms and water will be available at the start and along the route.
Pets are welcome, all leash and cleanup laws apply.

 Join the Willamette Wanderers as they walk their 5/10k Old South Salem
routes.  This is an attractive walk in residential areas and Parks in an
area close to downtown Salem.  The 5k is rated a 1A with one hill while
the 10k (rated 2A) continues the walk on High Street to lovely a
residential area on top of an incline. Both routes go through the Gaiety
Hill-Bush Pasture Park Historic District.
   Meet at Salem Hospital, Bldg A, 890 Oak St SE, Salem,, to register
between 12:45 & 1.
  Driving directions:   I-5, exit 253 and head for City Center. Keep on
Mission St. past 12th Street traffic light to next traffic light at
Capitol.  Turn right and park in levels 1-3 in the free parking garage
attached to Bldg A.

Description: Walk comprised of 2 loops. Loop#1, 5k rated 2B: Walk
through Rhododendron Garden, native plant garden, and on various trails
in Hendricks Park. Loop 2, 6K, rated 2A: Walk through eastside of U of O
campus, pass a patisserie and an ice cream parlor. Pets not allowed in
Rhododendron Garden. Strollers med., no wheelchairs. Water and restrooms
are available at Valley River Inn and at rhododendron garden. Carry
water. Pets prohibited in rhododendron garden.

     The walk features the lovely Eastmoreland residential area,
several city parks, and the Reed College Campus. The walk has a one km
addition into the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens. A small fee is
charged to enter the Gardens between 10 am to 3:30 pm Tuesday thru
Sunday from March 1 to Labor Day

Where: Historic Carousel & Museum, 503 W 1st Ave, Albany,

Description: The walk will start at First and Washington from the South
side entrance to the Carousel Blvd. which houses the Historic 1909
Gustev Dentzel Platform and Mechanism. Tours of the area in the basement
of the carousel building are available were one can watch some of the
future animals being carved. The walk will take you through the historic
areas of downtown Albany with many Queen Anne and Victorian homes. The
walk will also walk portions of the first official AVA walk put on by
the Albany Fitwalkers in 1988. This will be the 35th anniversary of the
inception of the Fitwalkers which was formed in 1987.
Driving directions:  From (Hwy.99) Pacific Blvd., in Albany, from North
or South take Downtown Corvallis exit. Go LEFT after 7 blocks on First
Avenue. Stay on 1st Ave. to Washington Street. Turn right on Washington
to park at Monteith Park or along Water Street parking areas.

Update: The binder is at the Customer Service Desk. However, for Safety
we will be registering in the parking lot. Restrooms are available
inside the store.  Meet for registration at Safeway Parking area.  Don
will be located at the far right parking strip (North Side) at 9:45 AM.
Description: Stayton is a small rural community 15 miles east of Salem,
located on the Santiam River. The walk goes through part of historic
Stayton, as well as residential areas. Route passes a hospital, library,
high school, and cemetery, and goes through Pioneer Park, over the
reconstructed Jordan-Stayton covered bridge, and along a wetlands trail.
Driving directions: From I-5 north or south, take Hwy 22
(Stayton/Detroit Dam) exit and go east 12 miles to the Stayton/Sublimity
exit. Turn right on Cascade Hwy. Turn right at First Ave. Safeway on
right at 1535 N. First Ave.

Two Rivers Market 250 Broadalbin St. SW AlbanyFrom I-5, Take Pacific
Blvd. (Hwy.99) toward downtown Albany. Follow Lyon Street to 1st Ave.
left (West) on 1st. Go three blocks and Left on Ferry Street. Cross
Second Ave. and enter parking at Two Rivers Market.
Comments
This walk will be in parts of the Historic District of Downtown Albany,
including Bryant Park as well as passing by the renovated 1909 Train
Station and through two cemeteries by the Albany General Hospital.
Bryant Parkwas dedicated to the city by Hubbard and Adda Bryant in the
year 1919. The old covered bridge that crossed the Calapooia River was
replaced and opened in 1960. Bryants Park does flood on occasion during
the winter months. It is said that in the year 1964, that a local group
of high school students chose up sides to play a tackle football game in
1 to 2 feet of water on an early warm spring day. The Challenges and
Special programs on this walk will be presented at the walk. Pets are
welcome, all leash and cleanup laws apply. All walkers must sign waivers
prior to walking.

Comments
This walk will start at the Thompson's Mill State Heritage Site and walk
along peaceful country roads to Shed Oregon and back. Thompson's Mill is
a unique survivor of things past, Chronicling 160 years of Oregon rural
life and honoring owners who continually adapted the mill to the
changing world around it. It is the last water-powered mill in the state
and its turbines can be seen in action on guided tours. A water right
that predates statehood produces the water flow that still runs the
milling machines for demonstrations today. A tour of the mill will
follow the walk. folks can bring a sack lunch to enjoy near the parking
area and mill.
