The bill referenced in the article is “behind the budget”.  That’s legislative speak for we might fund it and we might not.

Let's all hope and pray that Freddie and Sean and BPAC and Vision Zero and NDOT will dig deep and summon the courage, leadership, and bravery needed to create another committee to study the viability of 13 or 14 more community listening sessions to help get to the bottom of what is causing all this death and injury. I bet we're only 8,000 or 9,000 post-it notes away from finally understanding why people keep getting killed on our streets. Or maybe if we all just vote harder, our city leaders will see that we are deserving of safer streets and be moved to do.............anything. That's how this works, right Walk/Bike? Right "Critical Mass" Nashville? Eventually a critical mass of us will be killed that the city will awaken to recognize our humanity and choose to act from the benevolence of their being and the kindness of their hearts and magically change? Right? It hasn't worked yet, but maybe after the next couple dozen bodies in the street, we'll get lucky.
