Hello All:
Here's the latest update for the Walk:
The t-shirts are in and came out GREAT! I've been sending them out to people who can't make it to the walk, who are out of town and have made donations to the walk.
There is a message phone number for the Walk now, so anyone can contact me with questions, concerns, or anything in regards to the Walk...I'd like anyone who wants to volunteer in any way to help with anything for the Walk to call that number as well. It's also so that the media can contact me if needed.

Both bands have been confirmed for our entertainment at the Walk. We have Funky Bonz, Tucson's favorite funk band, and Black Cat Bones, a GREAT Blues band.
The food vendor has also been confirmed. East Coast Super Subs will have their food truck present and be vending their hot and cold subs, drinks and appetizers. They are very excited to be part of our Walk.
Also, there is now a Facebook page for the Walk and of course is called, Walk For Victims of Pit Bulls and Other Dangerous Dogs. Here is the url for the Walk Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/Walkforvictimsofpbodd Again, please share it with everyone you know; the more "likes" we get, the better.
There are some donations still coming in, which is great! The only things we have left to do is the poster boards with photos for the guests to view, and get a generator reserved for the bands and the PA system.....Also, we have hired/reserved a sound man to work for the bands, and the speakers to make everyone sound great and we will use his PA system. He isn't cheap so it's a good thing donations are still coming in once in a while.
The Fliers for the Walk are finished and just need to be printed and put out. It'd be GREAT to have a few volunteers to help put fliers out everywhere, all over town.
We will put out another press release closer to the date of the Walk, and hopefully this one will get more attention.
We are gathering some wonderful guest speakers. Tony Solesky (Tracey vs. Solesky, Maryland Court Ruling) will be coming from Maryland to speak for us. Colleen Lynn, founder of DogsBite.org will be joining us as well. We have people coming from everywhere to join this Walk, even from Canada! It's very exciting! I've also asked the VA hospital to send at least one person from the PTSD team to speak briefly about signs and symptoms of PTSD for the victims....PTSD is a very important part of recovering from a dog attack. We are also working on possibly finding a surgeon who would be willing to come and discuss the severity of dog attack injuries. It's going to be very difficult to find a surgeon who is willing to do this, but I feel it's worth a try.
We are STILL waiting for the Red Cross to commit to having a volunteer present at the Walk. They've already told us that they cannot have the bloodmobile there for donations because it is a Walk, and they can't allow exercise before or after blood donations, so they agreed to have a volunteer present to recruit blood donations for a future blood drive. However, we are still waiting to get confirmation that they've found a volunteer or two to do this. I'm contacting them regularly.
The Tucson Police Department has been contracted and will be present at the Walk, as you already know.
Again, the phone number for questions, concerns, volunteers, etc is 520-261-9913. Please share the website and the Facebook page with everyone you can possibly think of.
Thank you to everyone! Stay tuned for more updates.....
