Awesomeness, everyone. And great news about the new schools.Super impressive numbers.
I'm pretty sure we had our biggest "Bike to School Day Doughnut Ride" ever at Bryant. Our best-guess count is 200+ riders (parents and kids). That's a lot of potential mayhem but everything went smoothly and everyone remained rubber-side down. Phew!

As for cracking the middle school code -- sorry Clint I've got nothing. As you know, we have a middle schooler who rode pretty much every Bike2Bryant event ever, but doesn't ride to Eckstein anymore. As to why.... who knows. It's that middle school brain. We're just glad she still walks!Tim

Nice work, Everyone! We're tracking numbers here at Cascade...up to 1315 so far for elementary and K-8 students and 93 at middle schools. Shout out to newcomers on the Bike to School scene...Lowell Elementary with 25 students, McDonald International with 120, Pacific Crest with 70, and Whitman Middle School with 36! SPS Superintendent Jose Banda led one of two bike trains to Alki Elementary this morning with more than 150 people on bikes! Thanks for all that you are doing in your communities to foster active transportation to schools and for being champions, advocates, and excellent role models for our kids!
In appreciation,

You guys all rock! This is fantastic! It feels bigger than ever this year.At Eckstein Middle we have 49 today. We consider that a huge success, as we are still trying to crack the middle school code (how do those brains work, anyway?). If you have ideas, let us know. And wish us good luck for the afternoon... the real festivities for the day at Eckstein are after school today. That 7:50 a.m. middle school start time is only conducive to "on the fly" events in the morning!Happy Bike to School Day everyone!Clint

My boy and I were typically late, so we got to see pretty close to the totality of bikiness at Jane Addams. It looks like a better turn out than last year, and we certainly are making sure the Guerrilla bike-racking that we were subjected to by the Bryant-Benevolent-UnBurglers last year is well used. Thanks again!Hopefully we can carry over the momentum to our next two homes, and the new middle school can grow the bike love from our start.

With all these students as inspiration, we have 4 bike teams of nearly 10 each, plus individual riders at the John Stanford Center for this year’s bike-to-work month.

We had an amazing turnout this morning our Bike to School celebration. So great to see so many kids arriving by bike, skateboard, scooter, wagon, foot, you-name-it.We counted 136 bikes in the Salmon Bay Bike Alley, and that number doesn't even include all of the skateboards, scooters, roller blades, and kids on foot that we saw. Impossible to know for sure, but our full tally is probably around 160 arriving by kid-powered modes of transportation. Awesome!Would love to hear how it went at other schools - let's keep it up the rest of the month!Walker & KarenSalmon Bay K-8Walk/Bike Committee
