Hi all,

I think some of you have already heard this but now it is official.  Bozeman is a Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) at the Silver level!!  Just thought I would share the link to the announcement:

We are happy here in Bozeman but know we still have a long way to go…to reach Diamond!  I didn’t even know there WAS a Diamond category.  Something to strive for!  Would love to see more communities in Montana apply.  We have three BFC in Montana so far:  Missoula—Gold, Bozeman—Silver, and Billings—Bronze.

The League awards Bicycle Friendly Communities at five levels (Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze) and, with this diverse round of applicants, there are now 242 BFCs in 47 states. With the guidance and expertise of the BFC program, these communities are propelling the growth in bicycling nationwide. According to recent census data, bicycle commuting grew 80 percent in the largest BFCs, but only 32 percent in non-BFC cities, from 2000 to 2011.

Have a great weekend!

Cathy
