ABOUT DITCHES WITH TRAILS: The Ditches with Trails Project is a partnership of the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District, Rivers & Trails Program of the National Park Service, North Valley Coalition, and Vecinos del Bosque Neighborhood Association. Supporters include Bernalillo County, Village of Los Ranchos, City of Albuquerque, and WALK Albuquerque. The partners and supporters are working to preserve the existing ditch trail system and strengthen its recreational potential. This community-based effort will ultimately result in a “Ditches with Trails Action Plan.” The plan will answer questions about a variety of preservation and management issues -- how the system will be maintained and preserved, what trails will look like, and how public safety concerns will be addressed.
