Hello,

Apologies for the short notice on this but I wanted to provide an update from the City on the Indianola resurfacing / bike lanes project. 

- At next Monday’s City Council meeting, DPS will request Council’s approval of contract award for Strawser Paving as the contractor to complete the resurfacing project for Indianola Avenue between Hudson and North Broadway. 

- This project will construct the redesign of the street per the final recommendation of the Indianola Avenue Complete Streets Study, which was completed in 2022 after extensive public engagement.

- The project will repair sidewalks, add bike lanes, and retains on-street parking in the Weber/Indianola business block. 

-Following council approval the contract will be fully executed in August, after which a construction start date and complete construction schedule will be identified. Construction is anticipated to begin this Fall. 

- Once the schedule is determined, the City will communicate in advance and throughout the project with the CAC, area residents, and businesses to ensure they are aware of when to expect construction in particular portions of the corridor.

Thanks for thee we info. I agree it’s possible that the project won’t happen until next year, but I’m looking forward to the finished project.
