Good afternoon all,
I hope you are having a good week. Cam will send this update regarding the invasive removals in the Walhalla to the group of residents who are impacted by the invasive species removaI (including some of you) but I wanted to send this ahead of that so that you were all aware of the schedule.
(Weather-permitting)
Today - Initial email to residents with invasive trees on property, informing them of the removal timeline.
Wed. Dec 3rd - 48 hour reminder notice sent to all residents, along with any last minute reminders we receive from the contractor (Complete General)
Friday Dec. 5 - ALL invasives marked for removal on private property, and within the right of way, will be sprayed with the herbicide solution by our contractor, Complete General. The work will take place during the day, and as outlined in the completed work agreement, the impacted residents have signed.
Week of Jan 5th. - Trees will be removed according to the work agreements the impacted residents have signed. Some residents will see another treatment of herbicide (Honeysuckle plants) at this time. A reminder that we are cutting the trees to the stump, stumps and roots will remain in place. All herbicide treatments will be targeted and hand-sprayed.

Hi Cindy, happy 2026!
I wanted to get the best answer before responding, and I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. I spoke with city project manager Jehan Alkhayri this morning and received final confirmation that Complete General, the contractor handling the mechanical removal, encountered a delay this month.
Unfortunately, it is one of those situations where sometimes Mother Nature just wins the battle. The crews lost time in December and earlier this month due to the very cold weather and snowfall we've received so far, in addition to the holidays. The crews also confirmed to us they must be mindful of safety in the ravine with the snow and ice on the ground.
This isn't exactly the answer I was hoping for either, and I know your group is waiting with the trees ready to plant. I wish I had more of a concrete timeframe aside from "late this month" to share right now, but as soon as I hear a date from our construction teams, I will send it your way. Let me know if you have any other questions.

One of my astute neighbors noticed that the contractor has not removed the trees of heaven. The contractor was supposed to do the work the week of Jan. 5.
What is the updated timeline, please?
