Hello, all,
I want to let you know about some tree markings you're going to see today.
Stantec, the city's contractor with the stream restoration project, will be out today to mark the invasive trees of heaven and honeysuckle slated for removal in mid- to late November.
This removal goes the length of the ravine, so don't be surprised to see trees marked down around the Calumet bridge and beyond.
The city's contractor is to replant trees in the public right of way (not sure when that is happening) but won't replant on private property. Green Columbus is giving us nice trees for use on private property. I'll be contacting the homeowners in question to give them the trees, and I might be arranging a work group or two to help plant if people request the aid.
There are about 30 trees and honeysuckles on private property being taken out.
The trees we have in hand are good-size ones.
