Two tree updates

Hi, all, 

First, just a head's up,  I will be walking ravine properties Tuesday morning with members of Resource, a city contractor,  to look for trees of heaven that are either resprouting or were missed in the cutback/eradication earlier this year.   I've asked them to walk all the properties that were supposed to have removals to see what needs to be addressed again.

Please let me know if you have some that have resprouted.  The contractor is coming out only one more time to treat, so it's imperative we don't miss any.

This is only for plants previously identified by Stantec for removal. They won't be doing anything new. 

Second,  for the ravine restoration project,   tree removal will start in early October, we're being told.   Now, mind you,  they said the tree of heaven removal was to start last October, and it didn't happen till February. So take that timing for what it's worth. 

You might see me out in the right of way in coming weeks rescuing plants in the construction zone.

Yes please look at mine - they sprouted all along the roots 130 and 122 Walhalla.

Do you mean the trunks?  There was talk that they are planning to use them in the construction, but they also seem agreeable to do what we ask.  I'd email Tiffany and co.  directly.  I plan to be here when they cut our tree.

We have some regrowth on our property too, and one larger tree that was missed the first time (by the ravine closer to Michele and Tom). Thanks for coordinating!

I haven't walked this particular route before.

Do you know if any trees are marked for removal on the south side of Walhalla Road?

299 Walhalla has regrowth- the tree was removed on the northwest side of the ravine-facing deck and regrowth is happening from the stump and along the roots, including into our stone walkway in front of the deck. I have an appt that morning but hope to be home by 10:30/11. And will try to keep a lookout for you- feel free to knock if you’re at the house to let me know.

Based on discussions and the pink Xs and dots,  the trees marked for removal are all on the creek side of the road.
