Readiness:
Survey Monkey -
http://www.surveymonkey.com
To find student readiness , teachers can give pre-tests, question
students about their background knowledge, or use KWL charts, my hope
is that using Survey Monkey will provide a creative and unique tool
that students will be engaged to the process as well as get a great
baseline at the beginning of a unit or lesson. In order to
successfully demonstrate the skills that they have learned, students
need flexible opportunities for demonstrating skill. (Hall, T.,
Strangman, N., & Meyer, A. 2003). Survey Monkey provides a teacher
with the ability to create a survey that can be mapped to a particular
unit and students can get immediate feedback as to where they are
knowledge wise for a particular lesson focus.
Interest:
Interest Inventories -

This is a segment that truly motivates me to use. This is a pure
engagement tool in which the students will have the opportunity to
explore topics of interest. I have never used this particular tool in
my classroom and find that it could be very dynamic. This tool is an
interest inventory and will provide students with questions that will
guide their learning in picking a particular research project. The
questions will guide a student to see what their true interests are
and then help them in selecting a research topic.
Learning Profile:
BrainPop -

This is a great tool that I have used in the past because of its vast
array of information and useful tools. You can search for ideas,
lesson additions and numerous activities that can be done with the
students. In my classroom, I would first use it during my nutrition
unit as it is very important to go over the digestive system during
nutrition as a whole. This site is a great tool that provides
vocabulary enhancements and details regarding subject matter.
Students would be able to reach their desired interest levels through
their own particular learning styles.
