Agreed with all the above. This is outrageous behaviour!
A premium Lifetime License must remain exactly as what was sold to us. I have multiple licenses, which have all effectively been cancelled by this update.

You need to write DirectShow filter which is a COM server that implements an IPin, IAMStreamConfig and IKsPropertySet interfaces. For the IPin part you'd better to start by inheriting the CSourceStream class, for that you need to get the Windows SDK, having the SDK installed there would be a DirectShow Base Classes sources in samples\multimedia\directshow folder, there you'll find the CSourceStream (among many others). DllRegisterServer function of the COM server should register your filter within CLSID_VideoInputDeviceCategory category using filter mapper.
Recently I have updated the Spout distribution download page and this is what your users should be using. I included a download in GitHub releases while the website was under construction but might replace it with the download page link which is updated separately.
I took this step due to serious problems with the installer. It was being intercepted by Windows Defender as well as anti-virus programs and in some cases could not be installed or even downloaded. The issue is lack of a certificate for the installer.
The same issue applies for each separate program but that does not seem to be as much of a problem. I am looking at ways to simplify the process and perhaps re-introduce an installer with portable option. If you have experience with this sort of thing I would be interested in your suggestions.
I could reproduce the problem with the DirectX sender I mentioned, and have added conversion functions that allow for RGBA senders. I tested SpoutCam with both 64 bit and 32 bit hosts and it works OK. Many thanks for your feedback or else I would not have noticed this.
As well as the formalities of licence requirements I would be grateful if you would provide your users with a link to the Spout download for acknowledgement, opportunity for documentation, donation and future reference.
As with the issues with virtual webcams, Google (Hangouts) Meet does not recognize SpoutCam. So I have to use another video streaming app such as SparkoCam or manycam to bridge between Spout and Google Meet. Do you have any idea about how to get Google Meet to recognize Spoudcam?
I tried OBS studio and it is working well for both Zoom and Google Meet. I am still looking for the way to directly send images to Google meet without OBS studio or other intermediate apps, but for the time being, this will do.
well, I tried this method before, first I need to find third party app such as split cam to use the video in the lens and second the video will be laggy and without sound.
the method you mentioned "upload" is there a way to upload the video not just using the virtual camera?
this will sort the lagging problem but not the sound problem
Yes, but it's not a simple process. I used this method to add snap lenses to classic movies a couple times (live in a stream) and even made a YT channel called SnapCinema or SnapCinemaHorror (I forget the name). What I did was use a program called ManyCam to play the video as a virtual webcam signal, then I used Snap Camera with ManyCam as my selected webcam. Finally, I captured/recorded the Snap Camera webcam and the ManyCam audio in OBS Studio.
After that, you may need to add delay to the audio from within OBS, to sync up audio and video, then record your video. If you have trouble syncing the audio, download an audio/video sync clip and play it through ManyCam on repeat while you adjust the audio latency from the Advanced Audio Properties in OBS Studio. I tried splitting the audio off the video, then adding it to the recorded video, but it was a nightmare. SnapCam simply isn't made for this and the audio/video would go out of sync, depending on the complexity of the render job it was doing. At least with the live audio, I was able to re-sync it occasionally.
OBS is basically a software for streaming content. It's quite flexible what "content" is. This can be static color with text, your screen, your camera or a combination of all that, and probably more. It seems people use that to publish videos on Twitch (streaming) or maybe record tutorials for Youtube (save as file for later editing).
Manycam is a virtual webcam, you can provide it with videos, images, audio and has many other features like flipping or mirroring footage, adding effects and so on. I have not used it recently but it looks like they have gone for a more payed method now, with a free version. Older versions, if you can find them, will allow you to remove the watermark and use all of the software for free.
It installs virtual webcam you can use anywhere. Looks like it can't use static image as the video source, but there are a lot of workarounds - you can select your real webcam as the source and turn brightness setting to zero, you can select unexisting ip-camera as the source and get black screen with "connecting..." text.
Go to "Audio" tab in order to install the virtual microphone driver. I see no way to control it's volume, but you can change the sound with "change voice" function. It is easy to get something like a noise instead of real sound
ManyCam is a popular software that allows users to enhance their video calls, streams, and recordings with a variety of effects and tools. With ManyCam, users can add multiple video sources, including pre-recorded videos, screenshare, and images, to their video calls and recordings.
One of ManyCam's standout features is its ability to create virtual backgrounds. Users can replace their actual background with an image or video, making it seem like they are in a different location. This feature is especially useful for remote workers and video conferencing.
