My launcher is extremely SLOW. It takes a 1-2 minutes to initialize/logging in and then another until it becomes responsive and being able to click any buttons. Anyone else having the same issue? Inetcpl.cpl checked. Reinstalling done. Win 10 x64. Any advice is appreciated.

Same problem, slow to launch, slow to login, slow to display main window, slow to do anything. Takes me almost 5 minutes to start the launcher app, login, and launch a game. Been like this since summer 2021. Gave feedback via launcher about this, no one has contacted me or provided a fix. Uninstaller kept failing so I had to wipe all installation folders manually to remove, yet problem persisted after reinstalling. Added launcher app to my AV whitelist, still slow as f***. Win 7 x64

Fortunately ("-}), I know when things are in this broken state, because the two logo displays become extremely laggy and stuttering when things are in this state. Unfortunately, deleting the battle.net cache has not fixed this as it has in the past, and reinstalling the Battle.net app did not fix it either.

I have tried clearing the cache folder for it, and it worked one time immediately after that, then went back to the issue. I also have the issue if I open battle.net, open classic, play classic for awhile, exit game, open up battle.net again and then try to go into retail wow I will have to type in PW for the launcher on 1st and 2nd start up.

To be fair, I took the time to do all the resets that the troubleshoot asked. It is still an issue. None of the resets helped and the launcher is still not remembering the password like it did just over a week ago. I am trying not to jump ship on this testing and hope that they figure this out sooner rather than later, but I may switch back off beta for a while and check back at a later date to see if it is fixed or not.

Just so everyone knows, this issue is also being seen in the classic launcher. I am just now coming into the use of the beta version is hopes it would solve the very issue being talked about here, so in learning that others are having this issue with the beta as well, I figured I should jump into the conversation and add, it is happening with the classic launcher too. Unless I just logged out less than a minute before coming back into the launcher, it would require me to log back in and re-authenticate. Prior to coming into the beta version of the launcher, I had already gone through the trouble shooting processes listed for this issue for the classic version. All of this is has happened within the last 30 to 40 hours.

Ever since the last update, I am having issues with battle net automatically logging me out and logging me back in. If I am playing D4, it kicks me out of the game. I have uninstalled and reinstalled battle net launcher app and uninstalled D4 and reinstalled it and it is still doing it. Is there any fix to this yet? It is so frustrating.

So I had the launcher open this morning when all the servers came down for the scheduled maintenance. Right around 5am, my CPU fans spun up to 100% and my CPU temps on all cores shot up to over 80 C. I checked my system resources and it was the Battlenet launcher that was listed as using 100% of my CPU on all cores.

I recently wanted to play a bit of Overwatch 2, so I installed both the game and the battle.net launcher. After a few hours, the launcher was suddenly not able to connect to the internet anymore. I could still play the game if I started the launcher in offline-mode but later that evening, the game got an update, which the launcher was incapable of downloading.

I tried re-installing the launcher in order to see if maybe there had been a faulty installation only to find that I could no longer install it whatsoever.

Now, some other answers on the net say, you have to disable d3d11 as well, but Battle.net launcher apparently doesn't install without it and it turned out that there was no problem running at least Hearthstone and Diablo 3 with D3D11.

people open games from the launcher and not the system tray icon?

I did not even know you can launch games from the system tray icon lol

Yeah its the only way to open the games directly instead of: Open launcher > Find game > Click on play.

Are you ever curious why your PC runs so slowly...? The amount of stuff running in the system tray should be as minimal as possible.

Blizzard has taken the next major step to phasing out the classic Battle.net name it's used for the past two decades. With the release of a new update, the company's launcher app no longer bears the Battle.net branding.

Since Diablo Immortal is the hot new thing, I decided to attempt to give it a go on Steam Deck. Turns out the Battle.net launcher really hates some connections, here's a fix and a Diablo Immortal video.

You might find the Battle.net launcher which you can install easily with Lutris (Steam Deck Lutris Guide) can take forever to actually load or do anything. Now, this might be specific to whatever WiFi hardware you have, in my case it's the Google Mesh WiFi system and Blizzard don't seem to like it. An easy fix though is to manually set your DNS to 1.1.1.1 (or any other free DNS service). On Steam Deck, simply right click on the WiFi icon in Desktop Mode and hit Configure Network Connections:

With the full release of Diablo 4 in a couple days, we have gotten a lot of questions as to how to install and run it on the Steam Deck! While we do have a guide on how to install all launchers, including Battle.net, but it is more of a general guide. Here, we will go into detail specifically regarding Battle.Net, installing it the easy way possible, and getting it installed on the Deck.

Before we get to playing, we need to install the Battle.Net launcher. There are multiple ways of doing this like using Lutris, installing the exe directly, or using Bottles, but they all require extra steps. Luckily, we can use this incredibly easy tool created by moraroy that can not only install the launcher in its own prefix folder, but will also install Proton GE for you to use both with the launchers and in general.

Choose whichever launchers you want to install! Once done, just hit "OK" and let NonSteamLaunchers do its work! The program will automatically detect and install the latest Proton GE, then use the compatibility layer to automatically install Battle.Net. You can also select the "Separate App ID's" option if you want to put each launcher into their own folders instead of all-in-one.

With this done, you will need to make sure to do 2 things: First, make sure the shortcut is forcing Proton GE (whichever the newest version is). Second, make sure the controller layout is "Gamepad with Joystick Trackpad". I recommend modifying the right and left trackpads act as a mouse to navigate the launcher with ease.

Now, you can launch and open Battle.Net. Once you do, you will be able to install any games that are in the new launcher. These will default to the internal storage, so make sure you have the space for it!

The problem is the screen size of Battle.net app on Game Mode. It happened to me a couple of days ago as well. To solve this you must go to Desktop mode, launch the Blizzard Launcher and click on the button for full screen. Close the app, go to Game mode and launch Blizz app again, it should now be OK and you'll see the install button. If that doesn't work you can always install/launch the game from the Desktop mode.
I wish there was an extra guide on how to create in-steam shortcuts to Blizzard games, so I won't have to go through the launcher.
