Dear WCHS members,
I just wanted to update you all on a few things. First, I would like
to thank everyone who volunteered at this past weekend's event in
Sopchoppy- The Sopchoppy Worm Gruntin' Festival. I hear Kit is quite
the sales person! Our volunteers were able to raise over $450! I think
that is the most we have raised at one event so far! Great job. Next,
WCHS has been nominated for the Non-Profit Organization of the Year.
This is an award given annually by the Wakulla Chamber of Commerce.
This nomination is such an honor for our organization, and it is
because of our wonderful members that we have been nominated. You all
work so hard to make this organization great and achieve its goals.
The awards ceremony will be held on May 21, 2009 and I will keep you
all updated as I recieve more information. Lastly, I wanted to remind
everyone of the upcoming meeting this Tuesday at 7pm at the Wakulla
County Public Library. A fellow member and our treasurer, Terri
Gerrell will be our featured presenter this month. She will be
discussing the turpentine industry and its rich history in our area.
I hope to see you all there, and always you don't have to be a member
to attend our meetings, so feel free to bring a guest! Hope you all
had a wonderful Easter holiday and hope to see you all Tuesday
evening!
Sincerely,
Barbara Hines
