I'll talk about these in a minute; first, though, I want to make a
very special announcement: Starting next week, we will begin voting on
the new WaitZar romanisation! The current romanisation (burglish) is
90% good, but also 10% frustrating. Instead of trying to "fix it"
ourselves, we are going to have the entire WaitZar community vote on
the new system! This is a big moment in WaitZar history, and we really
need everyone to help out. We'll do the voting in the Myanmar forums.
If you are tech-savvy, you can follow the voting at mmgeeks:
http://mmgeeks.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=82
...and if you're just a normal user, you can vote at the Native
Myanmar forums:
http://forums.nativemyanmar.net/viewforum.php?f=27
We need as many people as possible to vote, so now is the best time
to try WaitZar if you haven't already. The 1.5+ beta release has a few
bugs, but it also allows you to type in WinInnwa, Zawgyi-One, or
Unicode 5.1 (Padauk/Parabaik/Myanmar3). This is a big step forward for
portability. Finally, we are halfway through developing a WaitZar
plugin for Linux! If you like WaitZar, feel free to link to the logo
on your blog. We know a lot of people prefer to use keyboard layouts,
but we think WaitZar is very helpful for people with little experience
typing in Burmese. So if you haven't tried it yet, now is the best
time. And next week, please help to vote on the new romanisation.
Hope you all have a good day today. Please follow the forums for
information on voting; I won't send any more emails to the group in
August. :)
Take care,
-->Seth
