I am proud to announce the newest release of WaitZar: version 1.6.
You can download it here:
http://waitzar.googlecode.com/files/waitzar_release_1.6.zip
...for Linux users, there is a package & user's guide to help you
install it:
http://code.google.com/p/scim-waitzar/downloads/list
This is a very special release for WaitZar, for many reasons. This
is the first full release on Linux, and it also features our new
romanisation. For example, using the old romanisation, you would type:
"bite sar tal"
...but for this release, you type:
"vite ssar tal"
Don't panic! --this might look strange at first, but it's easy to
get used to. Also, it allows us to categorize every single word in
WaitZar. Now, if you can't find the word you're looking for, you can
search for it in the User's Guide, by rhyme:
http://waitzar.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/WaitZar%20User%27s%20Guide.doc
We really tried hard to improve this version of WaitZar, so we
hope you can all try it out and let us know what you think about it.
We are also holding a vote on the new romanisation; you can read the
post here for instructions:

Over 90% of computers use Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista,
or Linux. That means this release of WaitZar can now run on most
computers. We are trying to increase Myanmar language support on
Ubuntu Linux by translating its text; please join the project if you'd
like to help:

If you'd like to show your support for WaitZar, you can also use
this sticker on your blog:

Overall, it's a very exciting time to be typing Burmese. :D
Have a good day,
