Good morning everyone,

I am pleased to announce the latest release of Wait Zar: version
1.8. You can download it here:
http://waitzar.googlecode.com/files/release_1.8.zip

It has been 1.5 years since the last release of Wait Zar. Part of
the reason is that I took the time to clean up most of the existing
code. Wait Zar now uses a new "config" system which makes it much more
flexible. It can now load Key Magic keyboards (like Zawgyi-One or
Ayar) and can even type in Burglish. You can mix and match your
"Encoding" and your "Input Method", so you can do fun things like type
"in" Zawgyi Keyboard and "output" Win Innwa. I am very excited about
this feature!

I am also very excited about a surprising additional feature:
thanks to the hard work of 3 of our translators, the User's Guide is
now entirely translated into Burmese! This makes it much easier to
look up information without requiring English. The guide is included
with the release; check it out!

We have also added support for the "Ayar" encoding, and for the
"Shan" language. If you want to help us add support for other ethnic
scripts like Mon, Karen, etc., please let us know; we'd be happy for
you to help!

A few months ago, I asked the community for help with testing and
translating the new release, and I was very impressed with the quality
of the volunteers we received. Thanks so much to all of our testers,
translators, and documenters ---this release has a lot more new
features, but I am confident that it has few bugs thanks to your
careful testing.

I hope you enjoy this latest release of Wait Zar. I hope that
you can use it to communicate easily and freely in Burmese. :)

Take care,
-->Seth
