There are formulas, spreadsheets, and cost estimating sheets, and then there is the Road Estimator. The Road Estimator is a useful companion you must have on your PC if you are a contractor or engineer in charge of road building. Road Estimator is the most reliable software for estimating efficiency, giving road contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders a distinct advantage.
It is complete software for calculating road cross-sections and quantities for new roads and upgrading in the case where existing roads must be widened and strengthened. Design or site level adjustments can be integrated swiftly without schedule overruns on expressways, national highways, urban, village, or any other type of road.
Single-lane or multi-lane highways with or without service roads and pavement are made up of a sub-base layer. The Base segment and the top segment are with no limit on the number of layers or materials used to construct those segments.
Technical challenges involved in road widening and repairing, such as soil replacement, change in cross slopes or super-elevation, or introduction of new pavement layers and drains, can all be easily accommodated in Road Estimator for quantification while improving road safety for increased vehicular traffic.
Use this estimator to determine the cost per ton and emissions reductions for the equipment you would like to replace. For certain fields, you will need to use the Non-Road and Stationary Technical Supplement for the ERIG Program. See the example below to calculate these values if replacing multiple pieces of equipment.
Estimator uses the standard emission rate, when available, for the horsepower category of your engine, unless you enter a family emissions limit. See the Non-Road and Stationary Technical Supplement for information about family emissions limits. Many engines do not have one.
Successful candidates for the Construction Estimator role will be self-motivated and goal-oriented with the desire to work in a fast-paced ever-changing environment. On the job training will provide the knowledge and skills to become a productive member of management team, with the potential for advancement opportunities. Experience through an internship position is possible.
Our Construction Estimators and road construction crews complete work throughout Southwest Wisconsin, including Kieler, WI; Platteville, WI; Prairie du Chien, WI; Dodgeville, WI and surrounding communities.

The effect of vehicle active safety systems is subject to the friction force arising from the contact of tires and the road surface. Therefore, an adequate knowledge of the tire-road friction coefficient is of great importance to achieve a good performance of these control systems. This paper presents a tire-road friction coefficient estimation method for an advanced vehicle configuration, four-motorized-wheel electric vehicles, in which the longitudinal tire force is easily obtained. A hierarchical structure is adopted for the proposed estimation design. An upper estimator is developed based on unscented Kalman filter to estimate vehicle state information, while a hybrid estimation method is applied as the lower estimator to identify the tire-road friction coefficient using general regression neural network (GRNN) and Bayes' theorem. GRNN aims at detecting road friction coefficient under small excitations, which are the most common situations in daily driving. GRNN is able to accurately create a mapping from input parameters to the friction coefficient, avoiding storing an entire complex tire model. As for large excitations, the estimation algorithm is based on Bayes' theorem and a simplified "magic formula" tire model. The integrated estimation method is established by the combination of the above-mentioned estimators. Finally, the simulations based on a high-fidelity CarSim vehicle model are carried out on different road surfaces and driving maneuvers to verify the effectiveness of the proposed estimation method.
We made important changes to our fee schedule that took effect on January 1, 2024. Our Director made these updates based on the recent 5.4% increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue. Additionally, we are pleased to share that several fees for specific activities will be waived until January 1, 2026 as part of Mayor Harrell's Downtown Activation Plan. This includes fees for Year-round, Seasonal, or Temporary Public Street & Sidewalk Activities and all types of Vending permits.
Use fees are what we charge permit holders for the square footage area of the right-of-way that they use short-term for non-transportation uses. Use fees are charged in addition to permit and hourly rates.
Occupation fees are what we charge permit holders for the square footage area of the right-of-way that they use long-term for non-transportation uses. Occupation fees are charged in addition to permit and hourly rates.
Both Use and Occupation fees help fund the voluntary improvement program (SMC 15.04.100) and road maintenance programs, subsidize permitting for positive uses of the right-of-way, program administration, and process improvements. These fees will be adjusted annually based on the percentage change of the Average Assessed Land Value (AALV).
With the completion of our migration to Accela, we have updated our online fee estimating tool accordingly. Please note that this tool is only for Use fees and does not include any related permit fees or hourly rates that you may incur. If you are applying for a Public Space or Vending permit, see the section below on Public Space Occupancy Fees and Vending Permits.
We are assessing Occupation fees for many of our permits based on the impacts to high use areas like arterials and in Urban Centers and Villages. Table 1: Occupation Fee Model (below) illustrates the model.
We encourage street-food and flower vending to increase public use, enjoyment, and safety of our public right-of-way. Street-food vending is a great way to encourage walking, add vitality to the street, and promote local economic development. Please visit our Vending Permits page for more information about these permit types.
Invoiced fees cannot be paid over the phone or at either the Street Use or Traffic permit counters. If your permit was issued through the Seattle Services Portal, invoiced fees can be paid online. Otherwise, please remit payment according to the instructions on the invoice.
Upload the Dispute Request Form to the permit using a Document Type of Dispute Request Form on the Attachments tab per the instructions in the How Do I Submit a Street Use Fee Dispute Request? help article.
The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is on a mission to deliver a transportation system that provides safe and affordable access to places and opportunities for everyone as we work to achieve our vision of Seattle as a thriving, equitable community powered by dependable transportation.
Knowing what your credit score is before you start looking for a new or used vehicle is essential. Understanding your credit limit helps you figure out many other car financing options, including whether you can lease or loan the vehicle you want. If you aren't sure what your credit score may be, we recommend using our online credit estimator.
Our online credit estimator is quick, easy, and ready to give you an estimated credit score based on a few pieces of information. It's also extremely convenient, as it can be accessed from any Church Point, Eunice, or beyond home or office. Here are three reasons why you'll want to use our online credit estimator.
Once you have your estimated credit, feel free to contact our Sterling Ford finance center to go over your purchasing options. We'd love to help every Opelousas area driver find the car that matches their price range and finance options.
