RESPONSE TO THE CLARION CALL TO AVERT DISASTER ON THE WEST COAST 5-1-05

TEAM: Madeleine Spalding, Gayle Gaillard, Millie Salt, Colette Cheramie, Lynne Whittington

In the week prior to the prayer event, Colette felt a leading to go to Yachats, OR. Madeleine felt it was important to be on the site of past native campgrounds. Millie was also looking at the Yachats area to pray.

During the week, the Lord unfolded some interesting information that confirmed the place He wanted us to go. Also giving some direction as to the strategy, as well as times and seasons

Some confirmation as to our area to pray:

Madeleine is told that Yachats is the place that became a type of holding area for the native coastal tribes before they were divided up and driven out to the reservations. At that point, Madeleine, Colette and Millie were all in agreement as to the place.

Colette was aware of a home on the beach that was often made available to missionaries. It appeared to be reserved for someone already. The individual that would have made arrangements to reserve the place for us was out of town. It looked like there was no chance of staying there. But Colette just happened to have lunch with a lady who knew the caretaker of the beach house. She also had all the necessary forms to fill out. After further inquiry, were able to secure the home because the people who had reserved it were unable to come until Monday.

It was a wonderful place. It sat on the beach at the mouth of a river where the fresh water met the ocean salt. It appeared to be a very likely that the early Native Peoples had had an encampment there.

The call for prayer was May 1. Which in the Jewish calendar was the Feast of First Fruits. It follows the weeklong Passover celebration. We learned that the Hebrew word for breaking of aphikomen (the middle piece of matzo bread as the Passover Seder meal it represents Jesus) is Yahats. We had already planned to share Communion on Saturday evening to observe the end of Passover and celebrate First Fruits. So we partook of Yahats at Yachats!

We arrived on Saturday, April 30th. We drove down the coast to Heceta Head lighthouse. We prayed and sought the Lord for direction. We declared Psalms 115:16, Jeremiah 5:22, Proverbs 8:29, Psalms 104:59 and Job 38:8-10.

We noticed rocks laid out on the beach in a very peculiar formation. We guessed that it might have been of occult origin. We broke it up and pleaded the Blood of Jesus over the area. We repositioned the rock to form a large cross. We then felt the work was done in that location.

Saturday evening we worshipped the Lord, took Communion, and then had prayer for personal anointing and commissioning for the next day prayer event. The Lord blessed each of us with His precious touch.

Early Sunday morning, Madeleine had a dream. She was in a room in which there was only a table with a dress military hat laying on it. The hat had a large star on the front of it that was glowing with light. She felt peaceful, even as she wondered where she was. She then heard what she knew was the Lord's voice say Peace, peace, peace peace, be still and then she heard Pray for California - destruction.

We felt that the dream was indicating that the tsunami issue was taken care of because this military hat was resting on the table, not being worn. The feeling in the room was as if the battle was over. Also, the words the Lord spoke were the same words He spoke to the storm in Mark
4:39.

Sunday morning Gayle, Madeleine and Millie attended Sacred Ground Outreach with Pastor Dan Lundy and friends. After the service they stepped outside and saw a bald eagle fly directly over them. Also a gentleman came and asked Madeleine her name and said he had some tapes for her. One of them was about First Fruits. Big blessing!

Colette and Lynne worshipped at the beach house and the Lord brought clarity for prayer direction through discussion that the Holy Spirit was leading. Very fruitful.

Sunday afternoon we went to Cape Perpetua, a beautiful high place that offered a view 32 miles out to sea and 70 miles of coastland. We were there from 3-6 pm, which is the fourth watch of the day" marking the end of the Feast of First Fruits.

Many people passed by us as we watched and prayed at the Cape. At one point, Mario called form Florida and prayed with us. We were all able to hear him because Colette's new cell phone had a speakerphone feature. One couple was standing there and at the end of Mario's prayer, they said We can say Amen to that They told us how blessed they were to see us praying and to see the open Bibles there. They were from Eugene and Lynne got their phone number for future prayer.

While we were there, another bald eagle flew very close over our heads. That was two in one day! The number 2 signifies witness, confirmation and covenant. We felt it was confirming the interpretation of Madeleine's dream.

Our mood was not heavy as we prayed. Later in the afternoon around 5:00 pm, two whales were sighted. They came unusually close to the rocky outcroppings and swam directly in front of us. They were heading north. Then they seemed to disappear into the bright glare of the sun upon the water. We were blessed and excited to see them.

We were reminded of the story of Jonah and the whale and how God did not destroy Nineveh because the people prayed and repented. The Jonah reference had come to mind with several of us individually earlier in the day.

It was Lynne's personal feeling that he eagles represented the land and the whales represented the water for blessing, in relation to our prayer focus of earthquake and tsunami.

A short while later, one more large whale swam by in the same manner as the first two. It seemed a wonderful ending to the prayer time there.

On Tues.morning Patricia King released a word from the Lord on Elijah List confirming Madeleine's dream about California.

It was a privilege to be involved in the coastal prayer assignment!
