Ok, so it's started around April 2022 after Fw update. Device started under read outside temperature. In most cases by +10-12C.
Wahoo gave me new unit , no question asked. Worked perfect as it had older FW. Temperature was reading +1-2C out , but that's acceptable.
Then i've updated to latest FW and temperature went to shit again .
It's most likely calibration issues:
If outside temp between +10-20C , unit almost always reads +12C

Mine is very consistently 2-4 deg lower than the temperature shown on an outdoor thermometer, backed up by internet weather sites.

I've stopped using this as a data field on my unit because of this and don't really miss it.

Odd, though. If it was just inaccurate it could be higher or lower.

I bought my Bolt V2 in January this year to replace a Bolt V1.
The Bolt V1 and my friends Garmin matched in temperature readings pretty well.
Initially the Bolt V2 read about 2 deg C high compared to the Garmin but after a fw update (not sure which one) it started to read 2 or more degrees C lower than the Garmin.
It's been doing that for some months now.
Most of the time it is about 2 deg C lower but sometimes 4 or 5.

Temperature corrections are applied based on the type of device.

Version 14984
BOLT: -6 Degrees Celsius
BOLT2: -4 Degrees Celsius

Version 15152
BOLT: -6 Degrees Celsius
BOLT2: -5 Degrees Celsius
ROAM1.1: -6 Degrees Celsius
ROAM2: -6 Degrees Celsius

BOLT2: -5 Degrees Celsius
That would explain bad reading on mine, if correction was set to 0 it would be more or less accurate.
Is there a way of getting old Fw files and installing via usb ?

I did factory reset last night, it went to old WF version. Room temperature was  25C . Before rest it was reading 19C . After reset temperatures reading was 27C (much more accurate.
Went for a ride (1.5h) outside temperatures was around 14C, Wahoo was displaying 11-12C whole time. Which is not bad considering i was moving quite fast, ( average 34km/h) .
Today i've updated the unit to latest version. Temp reading went to shit again. it's cold outside, only 10C, but wahooo displays 2C now :D.
Now i left woth two options:
*  I can downgrade it again and ignore Fw updates, but i use garmin varia and latest updates makes much more use of it ;
*  Or get Garmin edge with mediocre interfacer ;

Hi,
I'm curious as to why this one data point is so important? I agree that it is not accurate, and that is disappointing. You can always use a strava plug in to see a more accurate (internet based) description of the weather.

I bought V2 , did not manage to test fully , but from what I have sow, temperature is spot on , or at least I think it is
1 degrees less than one of my friends Edge 830 , and 3-4 C less than my Edge 1040

Many winter and early spring rides in the PNW are done in temps around freezing with roads that are not bone dry.  The difference between 4C and 0C local air temp is important.  I doubt that internet based descriptions of the weather would be more accurate than knowing the local air temp.

Okay, these huge deviations are annoying and the fixed offset in the firmware (instead of giving us the feature to setup it by ourselves) is mostly useless. But in my experience the difference is  constant over the whole temperature range so I can easily calculate the real value by myself. Adding or subtracting a single digit shouldn't overwhelm anybody.

In the winter i tend to look at the forecast and actual temps for the nearest towns, reduce by ~2deg C for countryside factor and see if it has rained in the previous 48 hours - so that i don't ride on ice. For me, seeing the temp on the head unit would be too late, but maybe you have a lot of temperature volatility in your rides. I'm not riding up mountains or in and out of valleys, so hadn't thought of that.

It goes to show how different functions are important to different people.
