Hi,

I'm sure we've been able to make images links inside the editor before, but suddenly when highlighting an image and clicking the link button, choosing a link page, when it returns the highlighted image disappears.

Is this a bug i should report or have I just forgotten how to make images a link, it's been a while since I've actually used the Wagtail editor and admin. Maybe I'm just going mad.

Wagtail Version 1.5.3

Thanks

Joss

Yes, the method before was highlight an image so it went blue, then click the link button. Tried this in Chrome and FF, image disappears, no JS errors

Hi Joss,
I suspect this was broken in the updates to rich text link handling in 1.5, I'm afraid:
http://docs.wagtail.io/en/v1.6.2/releases/1.5.html#improved-link-handling-in-rich-text

In order to support editing existing links, we have to keep track of "link text" when passing control from the rich text area to the chooser and back - and of course that doesn't account for the possibility of links containing something other than text.

Will open an issue and see if there's something we can do about this for 1.7...

Cheers,
- Matt
