Mathworks at Texas State University is a center for innovation in mathematics education. Our mission is to research and develop model programs and self-sustaining learning communities that engage students from all backgrounds in doing mathematics at a high level.

Assign Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) block sizes that support a minimum of at least the number of IP addresses required for the maximum number of cluster machines you wish to create, plus 5. To calculate the number of IP addresses supported by a CIDR block, use 232-n-5 where n is the final part of the CIDR block notation. For example, if you wish to support 507 IP addresses, your CIDR block size must be at least /23. This is because Amazon reserves the first four (4) IP addresses and the last one (1) IP address of every subnet for IP networking purposes. The table below illustrates some options. Also, your network engineering group can help you determine the CIDR blocks needed for your VPC and subnets.

The client machine must be able to make outgoing connections to any DNS name in the domain mathworks.com and in amazonaws.com on port 443 (https), or have a properly configured SSL capable proxy server that can contact those domains.

The client machine must be able to make outgoing connections to the cluster machines in the amazonaws.com domain directly on ports 27355 and 14350 to 14351 + 4*N, where N is the maximum number of workers on a single machine. For example, if there were 8 workers per machine, you should ensure that ports 14350 to 14383 can be contacted.

Note that ability to "make outgoing connections" means that the client machine must be able to instantiate a socket to the cluster. At a TCP level, this means that the initial SYN packet for the TCP/IP communication comes from the client. Most NAT and general firewalls allow this type of communication, but if you have more stringent rules, you might need to enable such outgoing communication.

You must connect the client and the cluster running in the cloud via "always connected" TCP communications. Should a network device between the client computer and the cluster reset the TCP stream, then any open interactive parpool sessions will be shut down.

You must configure Cloud Center Cluster Access to allow connections from your computer's external IP address. In most local networks, policies in place mean that the public Internet address of the computer, as seen from other places on the Internet, differs from the local address. Contact your administrator or visit to determine the public Internet address of your computer.

I have a question: how can I put the values of 'valuesnum_rows+1' in the center of the excel cell?I saw that I have to use the function: set(ActivesheetRange,'HorizontalAlignment',3); but I don't know how to use it.

The College of Engineering Tutoring Program offers a wide variety of tutoring services to meet the academic needs of Northeastern undergraduate students taking courses in the following departments: Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, and Mechanical & Industrial Engineering.

Tutoring for all engineering majors is being offered virtually. Free tutoring in Physics 1/2, Chemistry, Cornerstone of Engineering, Differential Equations, and Calculus 1-3 is offered through our first year tutoring center. Tutoring for select upper-class courses in each major is available through our upper-class tutoring center. View Tutoring Info.

Engineering students (graduate and undergraduate) have unique access to a tutor dedicated specifically to MATLAB and Simulink products. For help with MATLAB & Simulink, contact our MathWorks Ta by sending an e-mail message to MathWo...@neu.edu. You can get access to our MathWorks Help Canvas course, where you will find links to online office hours with TA, tutorials, and workshops. To access Canvas, ask the MATLAB TA to add you to the course.

BESS Tutoring Program (be...@neu.edu)
Study Sessions are a weekly opportunity for members of BESS to get together with their peers to study and work on homework assignments in a conducive, stress-free environment. BESS currently the ability to provide tutoring for entry-level engineering courses, but aims to expand its resources to provide advanced tutoring in all engineering disciplines.

Chemistry
CHEM CENTRAL is staffed by graduate students and faculty for around 30-40 hours/week. In addition, one-on-one peer tutoring appointments on selective courses are available upon request.

Connections Reviews
Chemistry reviews are typically held in the fall and Physics reviews are typically held in the spring. Contact Gemaers Dorvil at g.do...@northeastern.edu for more information.

World Languages Center
The World Languages Center offers courses in an array of languages, all with the same goal: to help you acquire fluency and linguistic proficiency in the language that you choose to study, as well as deep cultural insights into the culture(s) of the people who speak these languages.

Peer Tutoring Program
The Peer Tutoring Program offers a wide range of tutoring services to meet the academic needs of the undergraduate students in many of the introductory level courses, as well as some of the upper-level courses in the NU Core. They offer tutoring in Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Journalism, Mathematics, and Physics.

Physics
We have a drop-in Physics Workshop staffed by graduate students as part of their teaching assignment located in the Introductory Physics Labs in the 3rd floor Churchill. In addition, one-on-one peer tutoring appointments on selective courses are available upon request.

Student Athlete Support Services
Tutoring is provided free of charge to all varsity student-athletes regardless of scholarship status. Athletes who request a tutor are provided with tutor contact information and it is their responsibility to make arrangements for the tutorial sessions.

The Writing Center
The Northeastern University Writing Center will offer assistance to any Northeastern University student who is currently writing a paper for any class (not just English courses!). Students should bring a rough draft of the paper to your appointment.

Upper-class students (first-year students and transfers are encouraged to apply during their second semester at Northeastern) may apply to become peer tutors by contacting Gemaers Dorvil at g.do...@northeastern.edu for further information.
