Possible sources:

Entomology Department?
- could they give us equipment, or funding to buy equipment?

Beekeepers Association in Wageningen
- perhaps a good price for protective equipment? a discount?
- allow us to be a member, but only pay one registration fee?

Other places that might sponsor us?

We could try the local Rabobank for sponsoring, it's a big dutch bank,
whose CEO commented a few weeks ago in an interview that he was
worried about the declining number of beekeepers.
I have good contacts at the Beekeepers Association, shall I try and
contact them?

On the bank side, I do have some contact in Triodos bank, as customer
but also because they are heavily involved with oranic agriculture
projects...
If the Rabobank doesn't go through (and ahem...they do invest in
weapons as well....), then I would like to ask Triodos...but for what
exactly?....maybe to payy our annual insurance and maintainance costs
for the beehives?

Triodos is a very nice bank, indeed. We could ask them first, if you
prefer. I mentioned Rabobank because they brought up the issue of
beekeepers a few weeks ago, so i thought maybe they are willing to
sponsor us (but indeed, for corporate social responsibility Triodos or
ASN would be better). We could really do with a starting fund of say
200 euro's, to buy some stuff to begin with. And maybe to open an
account? Normally having an account as an organization would be a
costly thing, i presume, like €68,- at Triodos or even €90 at Rabo, so
maybe we can get a discount price?

If you really want to get a steady income as an association, you
should try and find a possibility within the university. They do have
a lot of money and they support initiatives like this. Make sure you
have a solid plan though, including a good budget estimation, number
of people who would join, long term expectations etc. If you have a
good view on this you might want to contact Liesbeth van der Linden
(WUR-mail). She is the contact person from the university towards
student(associations).

I don't think banks will be interrested in funding something like
this, but ofcourse you can always try!
