Hi ladies. Just wondering if there is any update on Maggie? Did anyone tell Leah about outreach Sunday? Ill be away but happy to tell her. She's often busy on weekends.  Wonder if they started training & will keep her?? Lmk . Dont want to repeat info

She just opened a puppy training place in Oceanport (paws n learn- not sure of name.) She was with Sugarpaws in Ocean before that. She is CATCH certified and also the Academy -  she is 100% force free. Let me get more specific info on her credentials!

I can't see any info on her online. We vet our trainers we use to make sure no aversive/forceful training methods so we would need a little more info on her but I'm not sure any of us are convinced at this point.

I have spoken to Leah a few times. She truly loves Maggie & gets choked up when we've talked about surrender.  She has sent me new pics when asked & I have updated them. Her husband is a real dog guy so Im not sure why Maggie has not warmed up to him. As Amanda mentioned thos was her issue in 1st home. I have suggested he be primary care taker from the start. They do have a young son so outreaches have been tough to attend with other commitments. My understanding is they feel badly for Maggie bc she fears the husband. Training may or may not help. Not sure why they haven't tried one. Their other dog is great too. They both get along well as far as I know.

We have a few trainers that we work with and we can arrange lessons but if the owners are not into it then it isn't going to do much. Good training is all about the people not usually about the dog.

She is being surrendered for a second time because of her reactivity/fear of men. I also gave Leah all of the dates for upcoming events a few weeks ago. I also offered to have a volunteer take Maggie. Part of me wonders if they really even want to surrender Maggie. They don’t seem to be making any effort or following up on any of the ways we’ve offered to help. So maybe they will keep her.
