The single sign on works flawlessly when i type localhost:port/

however when i write the ip address of the server, from within that server it doesn't work and i get the popup window

i noticed that when i tried to connect to the web app from another machine on the same network

It's probably normal, if the server chooses to use Kerberos it wants an SPN.

IME, unless accessing your local machine, you have to use the FQDN of the server in question,

Just to be clear, using the IP to access the server cannot work, Kerberos/NTLM won't allow SSO because the identity of the server is tired to the fully qualified host name.
