HeavyMetal Slug is a fan remake of Metal Slug with a few twists. It's gone 2.5D, with a mix of 2D and 3D graphics alongside classic 2D gameplay, and has characters and songs from the heavy metal world!

Metal Slug is one of my favourite retro games, so it was a natural choice for a remaster jam, and I wanted to try my hand at building a 2D game which I hadn't done in a while. I threw it together in about a week, and I managed to get maybe 70% of the gameplay working, along with a short demo level. Unfortunately there were a few big features I really wanted to put in that I had to leave out. Because of this, I've classified it as a prototype rather than a complete game.
