We are currently seeking a Software Engineer to join our team.
Software Engineer the scope of the role is to analyze, design,
program, debug, modify, and test application software for the
management of Ethernet based networking equipment.
Specific Responsibilities
• Programs and troubleshoots code for application software developed
to manage Ethernet based networking equipment
• Typically programs in Java and Script languages, as well as
occasional SQL development
• Works with a team of software engineers designing and implementing
Ethernet-based Network Management applications built on a management
framework
• Works with Network Management System engineers and Embedded
engineers to provide a cohesive end-to-end solution.
• Works with System Test engineers to review test plans and describe
functional behavior
• Prepares documentation for architecture, design, and use of the
software.
• Able to plan and provide accurate work estimates for tasks
assigned.
• Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general
diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of
identifiable factors.
Candidate Profile
• Working knowledge of FCAPS model and Telecommunication Network
Management model
• Solid understanding of SNMP protocol (SNMP MIBs, traps, SNMP PDU
formats)
• Experience with L2 protocols and real-world carrier networks
• Experience in L2/L3 device configuration from NMS or EMS
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full
understanding of industry practices and company policies and
procedures
• Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical
ways.
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for
obtaining solutions.

Desired Characteristics Education / Experience
• BSEE/BSCS with Sr. Engineer having 2+ years of Software Development
experience developing Production quality, Java-based software
• Experience with Java, Diagnostics tools, Application level
Development Tools, SNMP and TCP/IP with emphasis on Java and J2EE
technologies for network management
• Database experience including programming with Oracle and MySQL.
• Experience applying Object Oriented programming techniques using
Java ideally in a network management solution.
• Ideal candidate will have experience working in an Agile development
environment
• Ideal candidate will have experience developing software management
solutions for Layer 2 network devices in a production environment.
• Ideal candidate will have experience developing applications built
on WebNMS network management framework
