Exciting opportunity for a Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory Supervisor
for 2 close-by Molecular Diagnostics laboratories in Oregon/Washington
(adjoining states). Travel between these 2 is an approximate 2 to 3
hours through the lush Willamette Valley - driving past the Columbia
River gorge, the park-lined Willamette River, and beautiful
Pacific-coast beaches. Position reports to the Director of Operations
for the Central Laboratory,
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise day-to-day test performance and production, new test
development, and coordination of the validation of molecular assays.
Work closely with the Technical Specialist, Senior Clinical Scientist,
Director of Molecular Diagnostics, and other key stakeholders to provide
training, technical troubleshooting and test development toward the best
outcomes for evidence-based patient care.
Essential Job Duties and Management Responsibilities include:
- Daily workflow for 2 laboratory locations.
- Planning and participating in projects such as new test development.
- Monitoring the overall services re quality. .performance, continuous
improvement indicators.
- Bringing in new technology, new processes, procedures, IT interfaces,
and equipment.
- Scheduling work flow and providing status reports.
- Staff hiring, training, performance management and performance
evaluations, and scheduling of assigned staff.
- P & P, budgets, revenue generation and operations, regulatory
requirements, EHS, hazmat, chain of custody.
- Preventative maintenance for facility assets.
REQUIREMENTS:
MT or MLT certification.
BS in molecular biology/ genetics/related.
6 years' min related lab experience, 2 or 3 as supervisor.
Driver's license, and able to drive between 2 facilities, 2 to 3 hours
apart.
Can live in either OR/WA near Springfield or Vancouver.
Relo may be offered for stellar individual.
Travel to interview reimbursed.
